How many types of trees are there and any advice on planting them cause the tree field has like a year lease on it before ya can get it.

You can plant trees on your farm too. It just takes up space.

There are 13 types of trees (14 if you include the tea trees)

Spring - cherries

Summer - peach, banana, almond, mango,

Fall - Apple, grapes, cocoa, kiwi, lemon, Muscat, olive

Winter - orange

Well you can plant them anywhere just depends on how you want your farm to look. Once I got all my tree seeds I put them in green houses. since fall has the most trees I eventually made the tree field all fall trees. But it's all up to you ^^

Spring also has Bamboo, which can be grown in the Tree field and results in Bamboo Shoots.
