Thank you very much! c': I did, but I really heavily referenced the in-game sprites so it's more a style copy than anything. I could maybe make one or two expressions for someone if anyone's interested in it! :')

@Ranran: Heheh, always a pleasure and I'm super glad you like it! cx
I'd love that if you do it for me. ;u; I wouldn't want to bother you, though.

I do art on the side very now and then, and I understand how it can take a bit of time and energy to do such things~

@lostsongs: Ahaha, nice! Your farm would have been a real treat to stumble across on wi-fi! I have a few animals named after some of the characters, but didn't go the distance with the actual MC and all, it's really cool!

@botany: I wouldn't mind! I tried out messing with a screenshot really quick right now and-

Not gonna lie, doing some would be a lot of fun c': (if you feel like giving me a screenshot to put your character in at least of course, I'd do it without the silliness anyway!)

History:
Spoiler:
Julie’s hometown is in a metropolis city. There’s always a bustling of people and cars filling up the streets everyday. After graduating from Highschool at the age of 17, she spent a year of living the life of a recluse. She was someone who had neither a dream nor a future. Her marks were all average as she only wanted to fulfill the minimum requirement to get her parents to not fuss over her. Quite simply put, she lived a life of an empty shell. Her dream was to become an actress like her mother, but when she found out at the age of 15 how her mother was struggling in her acting career from lack of connection and extraordinary talent, she soon gave up hope in her own future as well. Devastated from losing the one dream she has devoted her whole heart and soul in to, she soon fell into a state of depression.

She was often on the Internet, mainly the forum and anonymous social websites under the alias: Requiem – the word means to have a mass for the repose of the souls of the dead (I guess Julie is poetic as she is honoring the soul of her younger self who was once full of dreams). After living a year of solitude, her parents finally felt that her daughter should have a change of environment and hopefully be able to find herself once more.

Marianne’s friend has a grandmother who owns a farm in Oak Tree Town. She showed her the flyer where Oak Tree Town is looking for a new farm owner and the land is right next to her friend’s grandmother’s, Eda, farm. At first Marianne was worried sending her only daughter to a faraway town alone. But, Eda assures her that she and everyone in Oak Tree Town would take good care of her. Believing in those words, and wanting the best for her daughter, she convinced Julie, much to Julie’s objection, to give Oak Tree Town a chance – at least for one year.
Oak Tree Town – That One Year – (Warning: Do not read if you are not past Year 1)
Spoiler:
Julie sighs for the umpteenth time as she looks at the endless grove with a bored gaze. How long has she been in this horse carriage for? After a full two hours on the plane and a four hours bus ride, she is now in the back of a smelly old carriage driven by a sketchy looking old man. She grimaces in disgust as the horse drops another big deuce in a large tanned sack.

“Disgusting.”

She still cannot believe her own mother kicked her out of her own house. She remembered a lot of yelling and cussing. Julie was happy being in her own room; it was her safe place, a place of comfort and familiarity. But, most importantly, despite what anyone else says, she was happy being a “social recluse.”

Suddenly, the carriage halts to a stop and Julie was not ready for the sudden jerk. Her whole body lurches forward and she hits her head on the pile of wooden boxes.

BOOM

“Owww…”

“We’re here, Kiddo.” A gruff voice speaks out.

Rubbing her head to try to sooth her throbbing headache, she mutters a small thank-you and gets out of the rickety carriage.

Upon exiting, she is greeted with fresh air, air that she never has smelled from her old hometown. The sun is slowly peeking out and shining brightly onto the small quaint town. There is a woman who was speaking to the old driver. She is immaculately dressed, and she seems to wear a permanent stern look on her face.

“Good morning, Miss Julie. My name is Veronica, and I managed the town hall. I know you are new here, but I believe your family is well acquainted with a farmer in this town named Eda. Have you met her Julie?”

Julie unconsciously gulps; she has no idea why she is so nervous under her gaze. “N-no, Miss Vernoica.”

“I see. Then allow me to introduce her to you.” Veronica gives Julie what seems to be a friendly warm smile. Yet, Julie could not help but feel a cold shiver down her back. Intimidated, perhaps?

After paying the carriage driver, Julie and Vernoica trek up towards a mountainous road. Huffing, Julie can already tell that she definitely needs to build up her stamina if she wishes to survive this hell.

They both finally arrive to the northern most side of the mountain. There is this “Eda’s” farm that is filled with beautiful flowers and crops sprouting their lush green leaves. The farm is quite active even in the early morning as she can hear the cows moo-ing and the chickens cluck-ing away.

Veronica left after introducing Eda to Julie, and Eda tells her that she will be trained on how to take care of the farm and animals under Eda’s tutelage.

~.~

The first few days were absolute hell for Julie. Waking up everyday at 6 am in the morning is just not normal. She misses the days where she can wake up and sleep whenever she wants without a care of whether the sun is up or not. Ever since she moved into Oak Tree town, everyday was always a full schedule for Julie, from taking care of the crop, to taking care of the animals, interacting with the folks and scavenging out into the forest.

At the end of the training week, she is finally awarded her own plot of land and her own house. The house is small and a bit beaten up, but Julie could not help but to feel a strange sensation of fulfillment and pride swelling up from the bottom of her stomach.

Eda’s small hand grasps Julie’s, “Julie, you definitely have the heart and the soul of a farmer. I know that you will help this town prosper and make a wonderful farm.”

Julie could feel tingling warmth spread throughout her face, “Thank you, Eda.”

From this point on, Julie busied herself everyday trying to fulfill her goal of making her farm top tier like Eda’s, Fritz’s, Georgio’s, and Elise’s.

From the lost and wins to different contests, and conquests. From building up relationship with traders and villagers. Julie soon realize that the farm life is hard but also bears fruit depending on how hard you work at it.

It’s weird. She never anticipated or even thought about her career path to go into the direction of being a farmer. She also notice that she has been smiling everyday, looking herself in the mirror she could not have believed that she was the same dreary sulking girl from a year ago.

Furthermore, she finds herself changing her looks everyday from firey red hair to a winter wonderland blue. She suppose this was a tribute to her past dream of wanting to be an actress- where an actress can easily change her character’s personality and look with a snap of a finger.

Julie no longer feels bitter about losing her dream, after all, it seems she has a new dream to chase towards.

~.~

In the first day of winter, Eda has passed away. Julie melds into the mourning crowd. She still cannot believe Eda is no longer here with her. Her body started to shiver, probably from the cold weather, she deduces. She can see Fritz trying to put up a brave front, yet failing miserably as his façade slowly crumbles to a sobbing mess.

Julie shivers once more, “such a cold day today.”

After the ceremony, the crowd slowly disperses, each paying respect to Eda one last time. Julie is the last one to walk up to Eda’s grave. Veronica patiently waits for Julie to finish praying.

“Julie?”

“Yes?” Her voice sounds hoarse, and she is suddenly feeling very tired.

“I know this is very sudden, but do you still wish to be farmer?”

Julie looks up to Vernoica curiously, “What do you mean?”

Vernoica clears her throat quietly, “You see, your parents signed a lease for only one year. Since you are of a legal age, you can extend your lease if you wish to.”

“I…why are you asking me this all of a sudden?” Julie just wants to go home, she wants to close all the curtains and curl up in her bed. She did not want to talk about her “future” right now. Not when Eda who gave her a future and dream is now gone.

“It’s because Eda says upon her death she wishes to hand over the farm to you.”

It took a second to realize before the information has finally sinks in. “Wh-what? Bu-but… why me? I mean, what about her grandson?”

“Eda entrust her farm to you, she did not tell me why. But if I may take a guess, Eda has been the one to monitor your progress as a farmer the closest. She has seen great potential in you and believes that you can save Oak Tree Town from its declining state by bringing in more trades with your products. Eda believes in you Julie. She has entrusted the future to you.”

This was a lot to register for Julie. Save Oak Tree Town? Her? That was preposterous. She can’t handle such a great task. She just can’t. She can’t. After all, she was someone who can’t even control her life back then. How can she take care of a town’s future economy?

“I don’t think I ca—“

Julie is cut off before she can finish her sentence. Veronica gives her a small smile, “You still have a month before your lease expire Julie. Give it some thought would you?”

She can only nod mutely, and Vernoica gives her one more encouraging smile before she too leaves Julie alone with Eda’s grave stone and an empty field that was once filled with Eda’s beautiful crops.

“Eda. Why me?”

~.~

It is already 21:00, and Julie has been in her bed ever since the funeral ceremony has ended. She gets out of her bed and shivers as her bare feet touches the cold wooden floor.

She goes into her closet and takes a random warm coat and boots and goes outside. The weather is clear, and the stars are brightly dancing across the inky dark blue sky. She walks past her barn and coop and realizes that she did not take care of them at all today. She will have to take extra better care of them tomorrow as an apology. Her feet keeps walking until it takes her to the other side of her farm, or rather, Eda’s side of the farm. The crops are wilting away. The house seems more dilapidated than usual. The barn animals were all sold a long time ago when Eda could no longer take care of them alone.

Julie enters Eda’s empty house, all of this will be taken down and it will be another empty lot ready to be sold out to another farmer.

“Julie, I think you make a wonderful farmer”

Julie suddenly remembers Eda’s compliment about her, and shakes her head to quickly banish the thought of taking over Eda’s farm.

“I don’t deserve this Eda.”

“I’m getting older, but I’m happy that we have so many wonderful farmer. I know I can rest easy knowing they will take good care of Oak Tree Town.”

“Then why didn’t you give the farm to Fritz?”

“Julie, I hope you can make your dream farm come true.”

Dream.

Suddenly, her whole body feels heavier. The tears that wouldn’t come during Eda’s funeral have finally built up to the point where she can no longer hold in her anguish.

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

To say that she is crying softly would be an understatement. She has turned utterly and truly into a sobbing mess.

“Eda, for someone who once abandoned her own dream. Is it okay to chase for another one? Is it okay to finally let go of my past self who dreams of being an actress? Is it okay to fail?”

Julie chokes on her own tears, “Eda, I don’t want to go back to my old self. I’m happy with the new me. But I’m scared of failing, of losing, and disappointing everyone.”

With failure, you grow. With success, you achieve.

She knows that it was pointless to ask the dead for advice. There is another cross road in her life right now. She doesn’t know which one to take, but with everything she has learn these past three seasons, she will walk boldly, with courage, with passion, and with sincerity to the new story that awaits her for the many more seasons to come.

Personality:
Spoiler:
Tessa is consider to be exceptionally friendly, sensitive, a kind soul, most gentle, and somewhat (actually pretty much) shy at times (which leads her into awkward situations sometimes). But don't let it fool you from her high intelligent that seems to continue surprise people, especially those who think that her career choice would take from that, believe her it doesn't. She also can throw witty remarks back when needed, shy or not she isn't a pushover. Respect is one of her great qualities and is so important to her. She was raised in that manner strictly, and takes it seriously that she presents herself in a respectful manner. Sometimes her friends have to remind her that she can go easy on herself about being in a respectful manner when she is around them at least. She does have an extra soft spot for animals, especially little one. The love and attention she puts into caring for her own animals is such a great example. She even can't resist tending and treating the local wild animals. Tessa has a annoyingly perfectionist side and tends to be extremely hard on herself in almost everything she does. Although some say this is a good trait for some to have, Tessa might be taking her's a bit too far. Because of this side of her she is can be seen as a stubborn and overly competitive person at times when she refuses to give up until she is content with her results.
Back Story
Spoiler:
Tessa was born Fall 19 in a small town called Echo Town. Her mother who was not born there but moved there had become a proud owner of a successful farm. Not only that, but was the main reason the now proud town is what it is today. To Tessa, her mother was more than that, she was the ultimate role model any female could have. And one day Tessa be successful too...if only she knew what it was that she wanted to do. Tessa eyes and slightly dark skin tone came from her mother, but her stunningly unique snow white hair came from her father, Sanjay. Her father like her mother had not been born in the town in which she had spent her childhood in. He was from a foreign eastern country as a servant and close friend to the prince of the country who had traveled to their town and ended up living there.

Growing up Tessa spent most of time by her side, doing the daily tasks a farmer does to keep a successful farm going. It was a lot of hard work and with a strict mother made life doing it a bit off putting most time. Her mother was only making sure she walked the right path and stayed respectful and hardworking was all, but to a kid it doesn't always seem like that. So day after day it was the same hard labor all season long.....well at least all the cute animals made it more bearable at that age. They very often went into town visiting all the villagers and it was there that put dreams into a young Tessa mind. So many different occupation surrounded the village and the idea of not having to work so hard seemed appealing at the time. But still she didn't have a clue what she wanted to do. Years had gone by and finally Tessa had reached age 18. Yes a young beautiful woman, her mother and father were so proud of her. But today was also a sad day. It was time that Tessa finally went in search of dream. She didn't know what it was still but she knew she didn't want to take on her mother's farm. So with long goodbyes to family and friends she was off to the nearest town by horse.

For three years of leaving home Tessa had tried out so many different jobs that were available one after the one. But none seemed to be it. She knew what wasn't it but not what it was, how sad. Finally in her fourth year of being of traveling looking for the dream occupation, she found herself in a town called Oak Tree Town. She ended staying with an elderly woman who always seemed to smile named Eda. Tessa's good mood fell the moment that she found out Eda was going to teach her some farm work, although she still showed the utmost respect. But she didn't need the lessons, as she was raised on farm, and she knew it all. Here she was trying to get away from the life and try something new, but she had taken to long and fate had chosen for her. Eda was impressed that Tessa was more than an expert at the tasks given to her. Tessa never once mentioned her background.

It was once she got her own farm that something seemed to snap throughout her soul. The first night in her new home she found herself crying. No not out of sadness, disappointment, heartbroken, frustration, or any negative reasons. It had finally hit her why over the past few years traveling alone looking for her dream career was unsuccessful. Her stubborn side had been blocking her from seeing the truth that she was trying to believe wasn't what she wanted. But no matter what there was always her biggest clue, it was why she kept thinking about why her mother was such a role model to her. This whole time she had already know her dream and it was to be a greater farmer than even her mother. Be more successful than her and make her proud. When she was a child she only thought she didn't like the extra hard work, but it was that hard work that appealed to her about her Mother's success. Had appealed to her so much she was going to give it her all when she discovered her dream.

She finally found it and from that day on she had new dreams to make true.....she will succeed no matter what it takes
