Thanks so much, this has been a great reference. I turned the sheet of clothing and accessories into a checklist to keep track of what I have :)

I'm really liking the dialogue/item description dump, too. It's going to be a great help to my Bad Fanfiction. It also let me see this:

Eda has 2 files of dialogue, it seems one is pre-illness (the Not Feeling Well event, I think?) and one is for after. I found it kind of interesting that she has dialogue for all seasons, including Winter... for both sets of conditions (e.g. Spring when she's sick, Winter when she's well). I'm assuming it's to cover either possible game-breaking things, or there was an earlier time in development where she didn't die until after you saw that illness event. :(

In any case, this was the saddest bit of dialogue:

File 1, pre-illness:

oh my « Harvest Goddess » that's horrible ;A; I had heard of that line, but the contrast between the sick/not sick dialogue makes it so much worse. Edaaaa...

That's interesting since I believe said event can only happen in fall, right?

I wonder if there is even a way to get married/have a baby in year 1. I assume not, given the length of time things take, but dialogue like that always makes me wonder, or if it was possible in earlier builds of the game, different from what we got.

Spoiler:
The dialogue kind of makes me feel like they were going to go a more complicated/modern/not glitched version of the grandmother in HM64 dying, where you could trigger it or not type of thing.

Yeah, I think it is only viewable in Fall, so quite interesting indeed. Makes me wonder what sort of other nuggets are in the game data that didn't make it to what we actually see.
This text dump also includes a file with a demo for SoS (hosted by Fritz and Elise). Is there a demo on the eShop or something? I love picking through all this info far too much. :lol:

On that note, more spoilers:

There was a demo at a convention somewhere, before SoS came out. It was the same demo in Japan and America, but the American one came here later obviously. It was only at like, E3 or PAX or something like that though, not in the E-shop.

Some difference between NA and EU version:
Spoiler:
  • Increase character limit to 10.
  • Pearl Oyster was changed from Tools to Fish, and it can be stored in Fridge.
  • All Wines cannot be drunk.
  • Softshell Turtle is stored in Storage instead of Fridge.
  • Turtle Stew was removed in Cooking Recipe Set 9.
  • A NPC name was changed from Jack to Johnny. There are two NPC named Jack in the US
    version.
  • Variety Channel was removed.

Hi! Can I ask how did you learn to do this? I'm trying to make a text dump of the previous harvest moon games myself, I've researched it but nothing harvest moon related shows up. I'm trying to learn the text table rn. But where did you start off?
