Shizu: That won't do at all. Try again from the
beginning.
Komari: Okay...
Welcome!
Please allow me to show you to your seat.
Didja make up your mind on--OOPS!
Shizu: It's "Have you decided on your order," Komari. Try again.
Komari: R-Right.
(They notice the MC)
Ah! MC.
Shizu: Hello. Have you come to visit Komari?
We're practicing proper customer service
techniques. Ginjiro asked me to give her some
assistance with correct speech.
Urk! Yeah. Um, I'm not too good at talkin'
polite. I get overly familiar with customers and
act too boyish and stuff.
(A trait of being masculine is not talking politely? That's... uh... I'm a guy and I attempt to speak politely when talking to other people. Does that make me feminine then???)
You know, like that one time I chased off those
two jerks. There were nicer ways I could've
done that than yelling in their faces.
(What are you talking about, you literally asked them to please apologize. How much more polite could you get. Also, whatever happened to the whole "We reserve the right to refuse service" thing? Wouldn't you be exercising your rights on your private property? Do basic restaurant policies not exist in this world?)
Shizu: I personally think your customer service skills
are just fine, but it seems Ginjiro would like you
to at least learn some ladylike manners.
(Yeah, I don't get this either. Don't you mean basic waiter/waitress manners? How is saying "Have you decided what you would like to eat?" considered ladylike? Isn't that something any worker would do? How is that specifically feminine)
Komari: Yeah. So here I am. Sorry, but I still need more
practice. Couldja come back later?
What? You wanna help?! Really?
Shizu: Oh, that sounds like a wonderful idea,
MC. We would be glad to have
your help.
Komari: Yeah. Thanks, MC.
(Screen transitions to Komari carrying stuff)
Shizu: Not such big, stomping strides, Komari. Walk
more lightly. Pretend you are a graceful willow.
Komari: Okay.
Shizu: Good. Try carrying the tray from there to here again.
(Komari carries the tray again and puts it down next to the MC)
Komari: Thank you for your patience. Here is today's
special. I hope you enjoy it.
Shizu: Not so stern, Komari. Smile.
Komari: ...!! R-Right.
Thank you for your patience. Here is today's
special. I hope you enjoy it.
Shizu: Very good. You never want to run. Even if you
are in a hurry, remember to walk gracefully.
Komari: Right...
Shizu: I think that is enough for today. Komari, you are
making very good progress.
Continue practicing as hard as you are now and
I'm sure you will have it all learned soon. Don't worry.
Komari:R-Right. I'll keep trying. Thank you very much.
Shizu: Well then, I will see you later. Good job today,
both of you.
(Shizu leaves)
Komari: Uuuugh, so tired. I can't move. Shizu was bein'
nice with what she said, but I don't feel like I'm
gettin' better at all.
Besides, it's not like I can ever be "girly" and
"ladylike" anyway!
(Yes, but you can learn how to be a good waitress. What difference would it even make? Just because you were ladylike wouldn't mean you would be a good waitress anyway)
When will Dad ever learn that? I wish he'd just
give up on stuff like this.
MC: (It looks like Komari is really exhausted! What
should I say to her?)
(I hate this event. Two options here:
- You are plenty girlish already (correct answer)
- Yeah, I hope he gives up too (wrong answer)
---
(If you say she's girly enough already)
Komari: Ya don't have to butter me up with little white
lies. I know what I'm like. All that does is make
me feel more miserable.
No, I'm not wrong! I'm not girlish at all!!
(YOU'RE WINNING A MINI SKIRT KIMONO. Yes, that does not make you automatically girly, but you can't deny it being the least bit feminine.)
Wha...?! Y-Ya like me?! Where'd that come
from, all of a sudden?!
O-Oh. So you were just tryin' to tell me ya like
me the way I am now. Geez! Give me a heart
attack, why don'tcha.
C'mon! You don't have to keep complimentin'
me like that!
Sheesh! I was all ready to be in a funk but now
you've gone and totally ruined that.
Heh. Thanks. I was about to get really down on
myself.
I guess I am still girlish, just the way I am.
Still, I'll try out this whole "ladylike" thing for a
little.
Yeah, a break sounds like a great idea.
Hang on. I think some leftovers of Dad's newest
recipe are around here somewhere. We could
nom on that an' chat for a bit.
---
(If you say you hope Ginjiro gives up)
Yeah! He should! That "girly" stuff just ain't
somethin' I'm any good at.
Anyway, I think I'm gonna take a little break.
I'm beat.
Sorry, MC, but could we maybe
chat some other time? I'm just...not in the
mood right now.
Looks like even MC doesn't think
I'm very girlish, either.
...
Hold on, what the heck am I thinkin'?!
Ugh. I must be so tired my brain is turnin' into
tapioca. I'm just not going to think for a while...
