Here we go with Komari's dark blue flower event! If you thought I got upset at the previous one then whew :')

Dark Blue Event:
Spoiler:
Shizu: That won't do at all. Try again from the
beginning.

Komari: Okay...

Welcome!

Please allow me to show you to your seat.

Didja make up your mind on--OOPS!

Shizu: It's "Have you decided on your order," Komari. Try again.

Komari: R-Right.

(They notice the MC)

Ah! MC.

Shizu: Hello. Have you come to visit Komari?

We're practicing proper customer service
techniques. Ginjiro asked me to give her some
assistance with correct speech.

Urk! Yeah. Um, I'm not too good at talkin'
polite. I get overly familiar with customers and
act too boyish and stuff.

(A trait of being masculine is not talking politely? That's... uh... I'm a guy and I attempt to speak politely when talking to other people. Does that make me feminine then???)

You know, like that one time I chased off those
two jerks. There were nicer ways I could've
done that than yelling in their faces.

(What are you talking about, you literally asked them to please apologize. How much more polite could you get. Also, whatever happened to the whole "We reserve the right to refuse service" thing? Wouldn't you be exercising your rights on your private property? Do basic restaurant policies not exist in this world?)

Shizu: I personally think your customer service skills
are just fine, but it seems Ginjiro would like you
to at least learn some ladylike manners.

(Yeah, I don't get this either. Don't you mean basic waiter/waitress manners? How is saying "Have you decided what you would like to eat?" considered ladylike? Isn't that something any worker would do? How is that specifically feminine)

Komari: Yeah. So here I am. Sorry, but I still need more
practice. Couldja come back later?

What? You wanna help?! Really?

Shizu: Oh, that sounds like a wonderful idea,
MC. We would be glad to have
your help.

Komari: Yeah. Thanks, MC.

(Screen transitions to Komari carrying stuff)

Shizu: Not such big, stomping strides, Komari. Walk
more lightly. Pretend you are a graceful willow.

Komari: Okay.

Shizu: Good. Try carrying the tray from there to here again.

(Komari carries the tray again and puts it down next to the MC)

Komari: Thank you for your patience. Here is today's
special. I hope you enjoy it.

Shizu: Not so stern, Komari. Smile.

Komari: ...!! R-Right.

Thank you for your patience. Here is today's
special. I hope you enjoy it.

Shizu: Very good. You never want to run. Even if you
are in a hurry, remember to walk gracefully.

Komari: Right...

Shizu: I think that is enough for today. Komari, you are
making very good progress.

Continue practicing as hard as you are now and
I'm sure you will have it all learned soon. Don't worry.

Komari:R-Right. I'll keep trying. Thank you very much.

Shizu: Well then, I will see you later. Good job today,
both of you.

(Shizu leaves)

Komari: Uuuugh, so tired. I can't move. Shizu was bein'
nice with what she said, but I don't feel like I'm
gettin' better at all.

Besides, it's not like I can ever be "girly" and
"ladylike" anyway!

(Yes, but you can learn how to be a good waitress. What difference would it even make? Just because you were ladylike wouldn't mean you would be a good waitress anyway)

When will Dad ever learn that? I wish he'd just
give up on stuff like this.

MC: (It looks like Komari is really exhausted! What
should I say to her?)

(I hate this event. Two options here:
- You are plenty girlish already (correct answer)
- Yeah, I hope he gives up too (wrong answer)

---

(If you say she's girly enough already)

Komari: Ya don't have to butter me up with little white
lies. I know what I'm like. All that does is make
me feel more miserable.

No, I'm not wrong! I'm not girlish at all!!

(YOU'RE WINNING A MINI SKIRT KIMONO. Yes, that does not make you automatically girly, but you can't deny it being the least bit feminine.)

Wha...?! Y-Ya like me?! Where'd that come
from, all of a sudden?!

O-Oh. So you were just tryin' to tell me ya like
me the way I am now. Geez! Give me a heart
attack, why don'tcha.

C'mon! You don't have to keep complimentin'
me like that!

Sheesh! I was all ready to be in a funk but now
you've gone and totally ruined that.

Heh. Thanks. I was about to get really down on
myself.

I guess I am still girlish, just the way I am.
Still, I'll try out this whole "ladylike" thing for a
little.

Yeah, a break sounds like a great idea.

Hang on. I think some leftovers of Dad's newest
recipe are around here somewhere. We could
nom on that an' chat for a bit.

---
(If you say you hope Ginjiro gives up)

Yeah! He should! That "girly" stuff just ain't
somethin' I'm any good at.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna take a little break.
I'm beat.

Sorry, MC, but could we maybe
chat some other time? I'm just...not in the
mood right now.

Looks like even MC doesn't think
I'm very girlish, either.

...

Hold on, what the heck am I thinkin'?!

Ugh. I must be so tired my brain is turnin' into
tapioca. I'm just not going to think for a while...
If you couldn't tell I wasn't a fan of this event. It's just... ugh. This time the event actually tries giving a reason for Komari to want to be more girly, except the reason makes no sense. Being a good employee and following protocol makes you girly now apparently? If I get a job at a restaurant and be polite towards customers will I be considered girly too? Like, what? Being polite towards customers isn't inherently masculine nor is it inherently feminine. It's called... uh, what was it? Ah, right, being a good employee.

If you're a fan of Komari, then I'm sorry if you're fed up with my complaints and I'm sorry if you're sick of hearing me go on rants about how much her events suck. I mean, I'm probably the only one who even feels this way about the events. Still, it's not my intention to ruin this for anyone and if I am ruining it for anyone, I'm sorry.

I agree with you, Ninja.

Komari isn't a favorite of mine because she's too energetic but I have no issue with her being, you know, herself.

I love Komari's character and her dark blue event put me off as well. I think it's mostly a translation issue - I think in Japanese her language is more masculine (like speaking with more masculine pronouns, more masculine way by Japanese standards) and the event is all about speaking in a more traditionally feminine way in Japanese so when you convert it to English it just sounds... weird. I feel like they could've done a better job to get across this 'conflict' but at the same time probably not because either way it sounds weird to Western ears.

I think Ginjiro's main critique is she's a little informal and not as feminine as she could be when interfacing with customers, so he's having Shizu help her out. Komari may dress feminine but her character is definitely a tomboy.

I'm pretty sure Komari only complains about not being girly because she loves her dad and knows how badly he wishes she was a bit more feminine. She's a sweet girl though and I always thought she was cute.

To the posters above: don't get me wrong, I understand what the writers were going for, I just think they executed it very poorly and did not make it compelling at all, personally.

---

Sorry for not posting for so long! Here's the last of Komari's pre-dating events, which is the light green love event.

Light Green Event:
Spoiler:
Yaichi: Komari is in trouble.

Follow me.

(Screen transitions to a bench where Komari is sitting)

Komari: ...

Oh. Heya MC.

Sorry. All of a sudden my stomach just...oooh,
ouch.

MC: (Uh-oh. Komari looks like she's in really bad
shape. I should hurry and carry her home!

(MC picks up Komari)

Komari: Huh? What're you--?

H-hold it! Put me down. Please? This is, uh,
kinda embarrassin'.

I mean it. Put me down. I can walk as long as
somebody lends me a shoulder. Please, MC?

(There are two choices here.
- Put her down (Correct answer)
- Carry her (Less correct answer)
Regardless of the answer you pick, the following dialogue plays regardless and the unique dialogue plays later. That being said...)

(MC puts Komari down, screen transitions to her house where she's resting)

Whew...

Thanks, MC. Yaichi. I owe ya
both one.

I really appreciate the help. Now sorry, but I
think I'm gonna lie down. A little nap should fix
this up just fine.

I know you two had other things ya wanted to be
doing. Sorry to interrupt ya like this.

Yaichi: Komari. Take care.

(MC and Yaichi leave)

Komari: There. I'm feeling a lot better now. I'm glad the
pain went away as fast as it did.

(MC, being a master stalker, comes back in)

---
(If you put her down)

MC...! Didja come all the way
back just to check up on me?

Thanks. I'm really glad for the thought. Oh!
Don't worry. I'm feelin' fine now.

Yeah...fine...

...

I really 'preciate ya lending me a shoulder to
get back here.

And um...Before that. You, um...held me. Right?

That's, uh...that's what other people normally
do...ain't it?

Um!! Never mind!! Geez, what am I sayin'?
Somethin' must've gotten into me.

Forget I said anythin'. Okay?

Yeah! Forget all about it! Yep. Didn't say a
thing. Aha ha ha ha ha!

Thanks again. Come on by the shop again
sometime. I'll see you there.

(MC leaves)

Ugh, I'm so stupid. Why'd I say stuff like that?

This is partly MC's fault, too! I
may not look it, but I'm kinda naive about the
world! I'm aware of that!

Gettin' picked up like that...of course it's gonna
be too much for me!

---
(If you decide to carry her)

(Actually, I lied. If you choose the carrying her option, there's a slight bit of extra dialogue before the screen transitions to her house)

Komari: C-C'mon! This...this princess-carry thing is
just too much for me!

(Okay, now it goes to the house and the previous "I appreciate the help" dialogue displays, then some new dialogue shows up

Thanks again for your help. I really do owe you
one.

And, um...a-about you, uh...carryin' me like
that.

You may not think it, but I'm actually kinda
naive about the world and uh, that kind of
stuff...

So I was super embarrassed about it, but...it
also made me feel really...I dunno...safe.

I thought this back when you helped me
practice my customer service skills, too, but...

I don't feel too bad when you, y'know...treat me
like I'm a lady.

Oh, uh. Nothing. Never mind that last bit. I was
just talkin' to myself.

Thanks again. Come on by the shop again
sometime. I'll see you there.

(MC leaves)

Hee hee...He carried me like a princess. Just
thinkin' about it makes me smile like an idiot.
Interestingly enough, despite her positive reactions to choosing to carry her, you get 500 FP from choosing that as opposed to 3000 FP and 15 AP from putting her down. Whew.

Other than that, I actually didn't totally hate this event. Neat. Might've been a bit better if the MC asked for permission to pick up Komari first but I guess we gotta fit in those oh so convenient romantic situations I guess.

Yeah, I thought it was very bizarre. Komari's character arc (at least initially) is her struggling to become more feminine, yet opting for her to be in a situation that's less feminine gives you more points than one that would help her get used to being feminine? :?

Well, I don't think being carried = more feminine, because I don't think femininity = being weak. The part I find strange is that if you do carry her, she actually seems to like it, and is all giggly at the end. So if that was the wrong option (based on points), I wonder why they made that her reaction...?

I think it might have to do with her saying she doesn't want to be carried.

She equates being carried by the MC to "being carried like a princess." She herself considers it feminine. Her words, not mine; I never said that feminity = being weak.

I wasn't saying you did. My thoughts were directed more towards the developers/writers, and why they made that decision.

I think it might have to do with her saying she doesn't want to be carried.
Yeah, I'd like to think that she's more impressed by the MC listening and paying attention to her rather than just overriding her and doing what he thinks she needs. Her reaction to the MC continuing to carry her may still be genuine (after all, you do still get increased FP), but perhaps she doesn't see that kind of behavior as being something particularly attractive in anything but a superficial or flirtatious sense, meaning the MC might not really be long-term boyfriend material, like?

(LOL, analyzing pixel girlfriend motivations...)

I don't think nobody posted those. However we could go through the text dump. The Ninja is the expert around the text dump.

I've been looking around and can't find them, I think you're right. Only the later hearts have been shared on ushi, far as I can tell.
