It's already double the sales. The Switch game has crossed the 200,000 sales mark.

https://www.siliconera.com/story-of-sea ... -in-japan/

Compared to the original Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, according to Famitsu sales data compiled via Game Data Library, the lifetime recorded sales (during the weeks it ranked in Famitsu) is 161,430, meaning that the remake may have already surpassed the sales of the original game. If you factor in lifetime (charted) sales of More Friends of Mineral Town as well, 108,362, the Mineral Town games sold around 269,792 copies, and the remake that combines both might just surpass this figure in the coming future.

Do these numbers include the sales from the virtual console versions?

Yes, Igusa's blog message about the 200k sales includes both physical and digital copies of the game.

This makes me really happy! Hope the series continues to do well for another 20 years to come.

Now please add more DLCs!

I was excited to hear this news too! I’m glad the remake is doing well, I hope it gets some old players back into the series. :)

I meant the original FOMT virtual console sales on the Wii U. Unless that's what you mean, too.

Igusa's message was about the Switch remake, not the Wii U virtual console game. The GBA game wasn't released in Japan on the Wii U, though they did get the River King games.

I'm a dumb « Mr.Gourmet's hat ». I kept thinking this is a Console game cause it's on the Switch so I posted it in the other section, yet my Switch is even me as a portable most of the time. In my defense, I was also thinking about the PS1 game FOMT is based on.

That would make sense lol I thought they explained the original FOMT sales too.

This is what happens when you don't read the entire article. :shifty:
