New game in the Harvest Moon series for the Wii U, PC, and mobile consoles. Contains tool upgrades, new bobcat pet, 10 total marriage candidates, festivals, mining, fishing, foraging, farming and ranching (with cows, chickens, sheep, dog, and horse), gift giving, villagers and a town, and more.

The game will be in demo-dev mode at E3 this year, which typically means no photographs or movies. More information is expected to be revealed during the game show and from those of us who will be there to inquire about its development.

Official Press Release
NATSUME TO BRING HARVEST MOON TO Wii U AND PC FOR THE
FIRST TIME WITH "SEEDS OF MEMORIES"!
Retro-Style Harvest Moon Comes To Town This Winter!
Burlingame, CA. – June 2, 2015 - Natsume Inc., a worldwide developer and publisher of family-oriented video games, today reveals the next title in the long-running Harvest Moon series, Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories. This is the first Harvest Moon that will be on the Nintendo Wii U, as well as the first Harvest Moon ever on the PC. In addition, the title will also be the first mainline Harvest Moon title on both iOS and Android.

"From the farm to the town, we wanted Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories to evoke the feeling of a classic Harvest Moon game with modern twists!" said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume Inc. "We’re also excited to finally bring the Harvest Moon series to the Nintendo Wii U, PC, and mobile platforms, where fans have definitely told us they want to see the series."

Go back to the roots of Harvest Moon in the latest installment of the series! Inspired by the old-school gameplay of the very first games, Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will bring players a sense of nostalgia, along with exciting gameplay twists. Tasked with the job of revitalizing a farm, players will need to befriend the villagers in town to unlock the titular "Seeds of Memories"! Seeds can be unlocked in many ways, such as giving a villager their favorite item, catching a giant fish, or by raising their first cow. Players will need to be up to the challenge of collecting all of the Seeds of Memories!

Old favorites return in the animal department with cows, sheep, and chickens, along with a horse to ride, and a dog to keep as a pet! Farmers will also have a new pet to take care of, but it isn’t what they'd expect… It’s a bobcat! The bobcat starts out wild, but as players befriend the animal, can they convince the bobcat to become their loyal friend?

Featuring cooking, fishing, foraging, and mining, players will need to upgrade their tools to find the highest-quality items. Players will also be able to participate in contests and festivals like the Cooking Contest and Starry Night Festival! Woo one of the ten marriage candidates – 5 bachelors and 5 bachelorettes – and find that special someone to make their farming life complete!

Look for Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories to blossom on Wii U, Steam, iOS, and Android this winter! There will be an early look at the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) June 16th-18th in Los Angeles (South Hall, booth 615).

Holy cow patty -- Natsume brought an HM game to console. I was very much on the fence about whether to buy their next title after really not liking Lost Valley, but this might do it for me. I always buy new consoles for HM...looks like I'm finally getting the Wii U.

Whoops, made a thread in the wrong forum for it before seeing it here xD;;

Interesting about it also coming to iOS/Android. I wonder if those will be full ports of the game too?

Something about that screams Hometown Story to me. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a mini version of the game.

Ah, yeah that's a very good point. I think the most interesting bit is that it'll be on PC as well.

Wasn't a huge fan of TLV, but it sounds like they are already fixing up one of my main complaints for the game (tool upgrades) so that's a good sign. Curious if it'll be similar art to TLV and if you get to modify your environment again.

Official PR for it: http://gonintendo.com/stories/234858-of ... t-time-wit

Edit: Well, sounds like there's a town this time, so I'm assuming no modifying your total environment again.

D'oh, of course this comes out right after I send an article on this to my editor. Oh well. It's still fairly accurate.

I'm also interested by the whole "evoke the feeling of the very first games!" bit -- I wonder if this is their response to people constantly asking for a ported HM64.

I... Don't know what to think about this one. The platform choices are really odd... Wii U, PC, iOS, and Andriod? I'm always skeptical of the iOS/Android ports of things. That being said, I guess I'll be keeping an eye on it like I kept my eye on TLV to see if it interested me. It didn't, but hopefully this game looks a bit better to me. Oh well, more info at E3 hopefully.

Android / iOS ports sound really, really weird.

Either way, hopefully Natsume learns from the shortcomings people received from The Lost Valley and that this game isn't just minecraft farming.

It's great that Natsume is spreading their wings more with going to console and PC, and also listening to feedback from fans. However the fact that they want to put the game on iOS and Android makes me a bit apprehensive about the game. It just makes me wonder about what they are going to be doing development wise to make that work. Sometimes when games are developed for two different platforms somethings are compromised. I remember when Diablo III came out and people had issues with the menus and hot bar being simplified and was more aligned for a console game even before the console version was announced. Overall, my worry is just that they would compromise aspects in order to appease a certain platform.

I was interested until I saw what platforms its on. I'm not buying a Wii U just for one game, so I guess this is a Harvest Moon game I'll be missing.

If the requirements aren't too bad, PC can always be an option? I find it interesting that they are going with the PC route, but if they are planning on updating their game with DLC like they did with Lost Valley, it would probably be easier on PC since DLC through those companies usually take a bit. Even bug fixes would be easier.

I'm pretty excited myself. Waiting for more information before I'll reserve my judgement.

Having multiple platforms will make the game more accessible to many. I probably will get the PC or iOS version if this game turns out to be decent.

That was an unexpected announcement.

I would prefer it on the 3DS, but hey I hope it's as good as it's starting to sound.

I've yet to play TLV and SoS, but I heard bad and good things about them respectively. I might give the new title the benefit of the doubt, though I am curious if XSeed would ever buy the Harvest Moon name.

So far it's a plus it's coming to WiiU.
I am aware my username is a bit pretentious. :P
