I've only toyed with RPG Maker, and it was ten years ago or more. It's fun to play with. I took a project from my Grade 12 English class and started turning it into a small game, where a Hyades elf misplaced her wings and then had to retrace her steps from the previous day or two to try to find them. But I really only built the starting village and dialogue for the beginning. It was cute and funny to people who
know me, or who are into all the same books and things that I am, but really only suitable as an inside joke, lol.
These game-making programs are a hoot to just play with, though, even with no intention of actually publishing the games for others to play. I like making the settings and including snarky or silly item descriptions, lol.

One of my favorite moves/descriptions was an example from the rpg maker fes website: Face Punching: A blow from the heart that stops small conflicts and starts bigger ones.
