The file was originally found by MiluaSolena on Reddit in this thread. The file in question is "NpcStatusDataTable.json" and is found in the original Japanese version. It contains trivia about the characters, such as Scarlett being scared of lightning, and character ages. The ages don't seem to be literal for all characters (they seem to focus on what ages the characters look like, with the exception of Livia, Radea, and the protagonist's children) and are not necessarily the same as the official, canon ages. The main characters' ages are not listed. I've posted a copy of what was found in the spoiler tag below. It seems the bachelors and bachelorettes were both designed so each has a "young" love interest and and an "old" love interest.
Spoiler:
Priscilla: 16
Lucy: 16
Scarlett: 17
Fuuka: 14
Beatrice: 16
Ludmilla: 20

Martin: 20
Cecil: 15
Murakumo: 20
Ryker: 20
Reinhard: 20
Lucas: 40

Elsje: 30
Palmo: 20
Heinz: 45
Randolph: 70
Yuki: 69
Simone: 30
Misasagi: 24
Terry: 25
Livia: 300
Radea: 250
Darroch: 45
Julian: 10
Hina: 10

Your children: 20
Doug: 20
Margaret: 20
I put my thoughts in the next spoiler below as well.
Spoiler:
Admittedly, my initial thoughts on most of the ages for the bachelorettes is "why??????" If this is what the designers were using when designing most of the characters, then it certainly explains why most of the bachelorettes designs look pretty young. I understand that the series likes to include a couple of young love interests for young players, but I feel that the age range that the designers seemed to use is too low for the female love interests. It's not good in my opinion when the "old" bachelorette is 20, the "young" one is 14, and the "normal" is about 16 years. Meanwhile, the bachelors have an "old" one at 40, a "young" one at 15, and the "normal" is 20. With that being said, I hope we get a bachelorette that the designers use an age from 24-30 for in one of the upcoming games, if Misasagi, Simone, and Elsje are anything to go by.

I wish most of the bachelorettes in particular were designed to look a bit older than they apparently were. I also understand that the ages of the main characters are unknown and that the official ages might be different (possibly across regions, like what happened to Lumina in the HM:AWL games), but I'm feeling a bit of culture shock from Japan. No wonder why most of the eligible girls look so young. I can't remember whether the other RF games were like this.

I remember hearing about this a while back, sort of! I remember reading some discussion regarding Livia and Radea's canon ages at least. I've always enjoyed seeing developers add some trivia in the code, like a small easter egg for either people working in the localization or curious people poking around the files haha.

As for thoughts:
Spoiler:
It's kind of insane to me how the always present trope of the "impossible to woo single mother" seen this time with Misasagi is merely 24 years old, that's so young... One of the reasons I struggled to really get into RF5 was how I didn't like any of the bachelorettes this time around, if they weren't cowards they'd make the playing field equal and give us a 40 year old, Lucas style bachelorette, but I'm afraid anything over 20 is gonna get the recurring joke treatment like Misasagi did, or we'll get a "she's totally 1600 years old guys, she just looks 16!" type heroine. Sigh.

I feel like the kid's ages along with Margaret's and Doug's are meant to be a placeholder! Because we know for a fact the latter two are way, way older, taking timeskips into account. They were probably added later into development and forgot to fix that by the time of release.

I wasn't aware that someone had already posted the ages, but I do remember discussion over Livia and Radea's canon ages and appearances when I made a thread about scrapped (and probable DLC that never came) love interests, which included Livia and Radea. I only found this out recently because I found a cheap physical copy of RF5 online and decided to finally buy it. I was looking up information about the game (specifically, the love interests) when I stumbled upon this stuff.
Spoiler:
What's ridiculous is that the "old" bachelorette (Ludmilla) is 20 years old, just 4 years shy of Misasagi's 24 years, but somehow Misasagi is the impossibly too old one. If 20 is old for a bachelorette in RF5, then I hope they include more "old" bachelorettes in the future, maybe an "ancient" one at age 30, since apparently that when's the ladies can start getting grey hair if Elsje is any indication. I guess their hair turns snow white by age 40.

As for Margaret and Doug, I think these ages are less literal and more what the designers had in mind when making the characters. Doug and Margaret in this game are supposed to look 20 years old rather than be 20 years old, I think. At the very least, Doug looks around the same ages as most of the bachelors (and I remember a lot of people wishing he was eligible in this game).

As for the protagonist's children, they are born after Hina and Julian, so they're logically younger than those two. I agree that the children's age in the table is probably just a placeholder, and their intended ages are unknown, since, after each one is born, a time skip occurs. (Likewise, what the designers had in mind is also unclear, because there is no way that the kids are supposed to look 20.)

I do find it a little disturbing how a lot of the RF bachelorettes look like children, RF5 included. I know it's probably for the younger audience, but it feels like the newer game's girls just look younger and younger.
