Oh I absolutely relate with this. I was thinking it would be nice to have at least an olderish candidate with facial and body hair, but let's be real we're never getting that in RF so just give me a wereanimal so they at least have to have facial and body hair
I actually liked the RF5 bachelor selection a lot, more than RF4. But I know the latter comment is a pretty unpopular opinion. I also like the idea of a witchy male candidate after getting lots of great witchy female candidates. Perhalps if we're thinking "making a male candidate of a typically female candidate" the character who has an immediate crush on the MC (Mist/Mana/Shura/Priscilla) could be a male candidate this time. A male candidate who starts off as a villain and who you run into a few times in the story and then becomes a villager would be fun (like Lynette)! And then the evil villain can be a girlboss.
For the ladies, please for the love of « Harvest Goddess » just give us an at least SLIGHTLY older bachelorette. They don't even need to be a MILF; just make them like Evelyn or something. That's about all I can think off honestly.
I think I’d just like to see something I haven’t seen before. I think Ludmilla was a great example of something new, even though she wasn’t my first choice. I think if you go back to the old candidates from Mineral Town and the related games, those candidates were complex and not too tropey. They were deeply developed and there was so much content in each character. I’d love to see development like that in the next RF game while avoiding tropes.
I just want the candidates (and other characters) to have memorable unique personalities and not the Story of Seasons-escue "this girl works in a flower shop, she really likes flowers - yes that's her whole personality" kind of characters. I literally can't remember any character from Rune Factory 5, it had some sure but if you'd ask me to name anyone aside of Murakumo and Palmo I couldn't. I'd also love to marry some character's single parents, older siblings or just random townies since they tend to be the hottest looking characters in the game
Also genuinely, let me marry a true Sainte-Coquille type guy. I'd look at the other options maybe once and then devote my life to that man and enjoy every second of it.
