I thought it might be helpful to make a thread about where to find the spell books and the missing pages.

Though I myself don't know where most are right now.....

I was hoping people would help out in that part. Then I would edit this page with the infomation.
Although I'm unsure weather this has been done before, I still thought I might give it a try.

Below is a list of Rune Factory 2's spell book's and missing pages. Listing where to
find both the spell books and listing who's quest's will give you what missing pages.
Missing pages, are as discribed, the books missing pages. Finding the pages will make the book
more powerful in what it does. The pages discripions in the game tell you what book it goes to.
To repair a book with it's missing page you must be in the second generation, second gen, and
meet Mana inside the school. There she will have an opiton to repair the books and will list them.
Mana will only repair a book while in the school during her class teaching time.
Mana teaches from about 9 or 10 o'clock AM to about 11 or 11:30 AM. But there is no school during weekends or holidays, so she wont be there.

This list is not yet complete and is still in the workings.

Help with finding the missing pages was nicely given by fushigi01, and thus credit there goes to fushigi01.

Fireball spell book- First gen, Farm house bookcase.
( Hurls a blazing ball of flame. )

Missing pages-

First Missing Page- Befriend Alicia. Can be retrieved by doing Alicia's first quest in second Gen.

Note. You might also be able to get the first page in First Gen by doing all of Alicia's quests, though you can't use the page till second gen you miht still be able to get it.
Warning. To some the quest might be glitched and not work, ending with you never ever getting the page or the abitiy to get the chance to get it again in second gen.
Before trying to get the page from Alicia in first gen I suggest saving before hand, or just waiting till second gen to get it at all.

Second Missing Page- Befriend Cecilia. Is retrieved after doing Cecilia's first quest in second Gen.

Sonic Wind spell book- Second Gen, School's Library.
Note. Go to mayor Byron to have library built after the school has been made and you have tranfered to 2 gen, it will cost 10,000 gold and 100 lumber.
( Unleashes scythes of wind that chase down enemies. )

Missing pages-

First Missing Page- Befriend Gordon. Can be found by doing gordon's third quest in second gen.

Second Missing Page- Befriend Roy. Can be found by doing Roy's second quest in second gen.

Stone Spikes spell book- Second Gen, School's Library.
( Makes rocks spike up at your feet. )

Missing pages-

First Missing Page- Befriend Tanya. Can be found by doing Tanya's 15th quest in second gen.

Second Missing Page- Befriend Egan. Can be found by doing Egan's second quest in second gen.

Dragon Breaker spell book- Second Gen, School's Library.
Note. Barrett must hide the book before you can find it. But first you must collect all the stone tablet fragments in each dungeon.
( Ancient magic created to defeat Elder Dragons. Use it on Fiersome to make him vulnerable to attacks. )

Missing pages- None

Shine spell book- Second Gen, train in dojo, given by Barrett.
Note. Barrett will give you the book after defeating six monsters in the second training corse. Like with the Library, You'll need to ask Byron to build a Dojo, it will cost the same amont of money and wood as the Library.
( Creates shinning bullets of light. )
Note. The ball's of light will circle around you, but disapper in a short time or if they hit a monster.

Missing pages-

First Missing Page- Befriend Max. Can be found by doing Max's second quest in second gen.

Second Missing Page- Befriend Yue. Can be found by doing yue's 3rd quest in second gen.

Life Drain spell book- Second Gen, train in dojo, given by Barrett. Barrett will give you the book along with the Shine spell book.
( Fires a bullet of darkness, absording some damage.)
Note. It will both damage the monster and give you a bit of HP back.

Missing pages-

First Missing Page- Befriend Ray. Can be retrieved by doing ray's first quest in second gen.

Second Missing Page- Befriend Yue. Can be retrieved y doing yue's second quest in second gen.

Cure spell book- Second Gen, Bookcase in front part of doctor's office.
( Healing magic. Restores HP. )

Missing pages-

First Missing Page- Befriend Natalie. Can be obtained by doing natalie's first quest in second gen.

Second Missing Page- Befriend Barrett. Can be found by doing barrett's first quest in second gen.

Medication spell book- Second Gen, Bookcase in front part of doctor's office.
(Status aliment magic. )
Note. Also gives a bit of HP back but not much. The more restored it is the more aliments it will cure. Can not sure sealed.

Missing pages-

First Missing Page- Befriend Douglas. Can be obtained by doing douglas' first quest in second gen.

Second Missing Page- Befriend Yue. Can be obtained by doing yue's first quest in second gen.

Escape spell book- Second gen, farm house center dinning table.
( Very useful magic that will whisk you to safely faster then you can say "There's no place like home." )
Note. Use inside a dungeon and it will take you to the where you first entered the dungeon, where the save crystal is. Use again or anywhere outside a dungeon and it will take you to the outside of your farm house.
Very useful if you want to make a quick stop at home.

Warning. Tested and confurmed, you can not use the Escape spell book to escape during a boss fight.
The spell will not work when in a fight with a dungeon's boss monster.

Missing pages- None

Water Laser spell book Second Gen, Farm house, in the book case your wife will stand in front of in the double bed bedroom.
Note. You might want to wait for your wife to leave the house before trying to get the book.
( Fires water at high pressure. )
Note. Tends to be hard to derect and control at first, best to be infront of the monster but a way aways from the monster before fireing.


Missing Pages- ???

Well I know that Fireball can be found at the beginning of the game, on your shelf in the farmhouse.

This is a very nice idea though. I have faith you'll do it very well =) so keep it up ^^
Might want to add a brief description of what the spellbook does. Fireball is obvious but there might be others that aren't. Just a thought =)

A discription, ok just a moment. Let me see what I can do.
OK I used the one the game used.

I know Sonic Wind, Stone Spikes, and Dragon Breaker can be found in the library in 2nd gen, and Barrett gives you Shine and Life Drain from training in the dojo. Oh, and Cure and Medication are from the shelves in the front of the doctor's office.

I'm pretty sure that you get the missing pages from doing quests for people, but I'm not exactly sure which page goes with which request...

Not a contribution but I guess it's still related - in RF1 there was an escape spell that allowed you to go back to the beginning of the dungeon you were in. You received it pretty early too... is there one in this game, and where/when/how do you get it? I hate backtracking

Umm, i'm sorry if this is redundent, but did you include the book "escape"? it is found at your house first floor at the table. it has no missing pages.

Ooh... If this has enough info it might get stickied! A note about Fireball: You get the first page from one of Alicia's quests in 1st gen, but there's a glitch that sometimes, the request will not appear on the Bulletin board-ever. It happened to me and now Tobi can't repair
