I say the click and drag harvesting feature or adding in the tools.
I second that clicking and dragging.
Thirded! I'm sure I can come up with more tips later. xD

I made grass and rocks randomly appear in people's farms. While it depends on how many open squares you have in you farm, you should be getting a tile of grass or rocks every 2 hours-ish. If anybody feels they're recieving too many or too little of these, please let me know - it will probably need some tweaking.

From now on, I'm gonna put things that are more interesting or things that I need feedback on in bold. So if you think I'm typing too much, just skip to the bolded things.

---
Er sort of. You see there's fishing, flower picking/taking care of, bug catching and swimming. I know you could 'swim' and fish in Pokemon but in this game it's actually more in depth.
Sweet.. I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere and give it a whirl.
It was cool that weeds and rocks popped up after a while, but I didn't know you could keep them! When I smashed the rock and cut the weed it was added into the inventory. Weed gives the cow like 55.2 percent hunger.
My plan was to make it possible to feed nearly any item to your animals, while some of them are clearly better used elsewhere. So yes haha I knew all of those.
I dunno maybe you should do a "skip to next day" or have a days feature, or are you planning one? That might be a bit easier when it comes to crops/animals?
Thought about it, but it's really not feasible considering everybody's playing on the same "clock".. Maybe some sort of miracle potion to make your crops grow faster?
Also does your crops die over time if you forget or you haven't been on the computer in a while? And do your animals die too?
Nope.. I wanted it to be as easy as possible to leave the game for a couple days/weeks, come back, and pick up playing as normal.
Prices and such can all be tweaked later pretty easily.
Exactly. Most of the values for pricing and growth times were just thrown in there randomly. Once the system has been built, these numbers will need to be seriously adjusted.
I like the new changes, now that we have animals we should be able to sell animals. That would solve the accidentally buying too many issue if you can just sell them back.
Agreed. I'll get on this.
I noticed there's a Power: thing next to the character, so I'm assuming you're going to put a power bar there eventually. Are you thinking of adding powerberries or bodigizer or something?
Yes, and yes. You'll automatically regain something like 20 stamina points every hour, and then they can be regained even faster for a price.
Also, for the homepage you should probably explain what the farm is and what it's about, how you do it (or maybe you could make it so that only happens if they haven't made any progress on their farm? I dunno.).
Agreed. Something to explain how the entire thing works to people that have never used it before.
Is there eventually going to be a high score table? And what are we going to spend the money that we make on? xD
Haha yes to the high score table, and most likely some sort of facebook-wide daily competition - who can harvest the most tomatoes, who has the biggest cow, etc etc. I have no idea what you can spend money on. This is something that needs some serious thinking. Possibly character upgrades (hat, shirt, etc), possibly house upgrades? Anybody else have suggestions?
Maybe you could add a facebook wall-type thing on the home page so suggestions on the game can be posted there.
Thought about this, but I want it to appear like a more polished product when it goes live. Although it might be helpful just throughout development. I'll think about it.
Milk and eggs are kind of useless at this point. So far what I use them for is feeding my cow and chicken which if you ask me is kinda strange xD
You can sell them at the market in the town center. Any other ideas what you could do with them?
I say the click and drag harvesting feature or adding in the tools.
I second that clicking and dragging.
Thirded! I'm sure I can come up with more tips later. xD
Yup, the whole clicking repetitively thing is really getting on my nerves. I'll get on this pretty quick.

House upgrades and clothes, yes. Are you thinking of adding in other characters to talk to, or no?

...And what would a horse be for...? /offtopic
Upgrading the size of the field or barn...
That's all I can think of.

Cooking...? that would be complicated, and I dunno what you could do with the food once you've made it.
Maybe you could stick a random event in there. Haha, "If you open this egg, a surprise comes out..."

"Surprise! It's a weed!"
"Surprise! Baby Chick!"
"It's empty.. what the heck.. the poor chicken went through all that pain!"
"It's filled with EGG!"

Also, what if with improved tools that you buy you can click and drag a higher number of crops? xD I'd pay for that!

I created the first rough version of the energy system. As of right now, all actions (planting/harvesting crops, feeding animals) take away 1 energy, and you recover 1 energy point every 5 minutes. I'm not sure if I like this setup or not.. It seems a little restricting. Anyways, I'd like to know what everything thinks. Thanks.

Sorry, what?! Either I'm crazy or that wasn't a legit sentence.
Are you thinking of adding in other characters to talk to, or no?
Other NPCs, no, but there will be the possibility to somehow socialize with other players. Eventually, you will be able to marry to another person somewhere in the world.

Absolutely no ideas. Any ideas?
Upgrading the size of the field or barn...
Agreed. I'll have to do this sometime.

I was thinking about this actually.. I think a kitchen might be a decent idea. What does everybody else think?

Haha I strangely like the idea of this.

A lot of people seem to want this. It'll be coming eventually.

Um the energy thing i guess is ok right now, but since it takes 5 minutes to get a point of energy back i have to wait to finish plantin my crops

O and just my opinion, but i think its kinda weird how the nicest lookin building is your house. it kinda seems like the the main characters house and the seed shop should switch? cuz theres like bushes n stuff around the buildin in the top right corner(perfect for a flower/seed shop), and the house on the top left corner looks more like the kind of house in harvest moon games that the main character would live in, and it even has a feild for crops. and maybe if you could ever add in a field behind it or a barn? but yea this is just my opinion.

Maybe ever sell grass seeds and let ur animals roam around outside?

Yea.. There definitely needs to be some means of regaining energy quicker. I guess that means I'll be building the bar fairly soon.

Somebody else had suggested that and I suppose it makes sense. I've moved the seed shop to top right, house to top left.

I like the idea of letting your animals outside, or at least some means of them being able to feed themselves. I'll have to think about it.

I fed my cow and his hunger went down, but 20 minutes later his hunger is way up again lol. it was at like 57% and now 20 minutes later 23%

maybe make it slower?

But yea i think this thing is pretty awesome! it is fun. I sit and watch my plants grow lol

I wanted to make the cow eat a lot because the milk earns you $800 when you're done, but your right, it may be a bit fast. I'll slow it down a bit.

EDIT: The cow's hunger now goes down about 30% slower.

Haha :)

Things to spend money on suggestions.

1)Tools and Tool upgrades, upgrading tools would use less energy and allow a larger area of click and drag (can you limit this size?)

2)House upgrades, maybe use something like HM64 system where you can buy a kitchen(to allow cooking), bathroom(to allow baths). Green house? and ability to enlarge the barn for more animals. If you start with a low animal cap like 3 or 4 you can have 3-4 upgrades levels for the barn.

3)Furniture, mostly for storage if you put a cap on inventory(ruck sack) size. So you can buy a bigger fridge or a bigger cabinet. This will also let you upgrade your rucksack to hold more.

4)Makers, cheese maker for milk, Fodder maker for grass. Maybe cooking utensils or a TV to get recipes. Food can then be sold or given as gifts. Could go with a BTN system where some things like flour and oil can only be bought. Also fodder or feed should be for sale, even though you can feed your animals anything. Fodder can fill their hunger level more.

5)Clothing, make one unique clothing available each week. Once the week is over replace it with something else. Then the only way to get clothing from previous weeks would be through auction or to receive as gifts.

If you find yourself a little low on energy, you can now click on the picture of your character in the top left corner which will then allow you to feed yourself to regain energy.

I'm still not entirely sure how the whole click-and-drag system is going to technically work, but this is definitely a good idea if possible.

Sounds great.. Taking a bath could refresh your energy.
3)Furniture, mostly for storage if you put a cap on inventory(ruck sack) size. So you can buy a bigger fridge or a bigger cabinet. This will also let you upgrade your rucksack to hold more.
This would be a little tricky to implement. How important do you think it is?

Really love this idea.. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of having a kitchen.
5)Clothing, make one unique clothing available each week. Once the week is over replace it with something else. Then the only way to get clothing from previous weeks would be through auction or to receive as gifts.
Also really like this idea.. Would keep people coming back week to week as well.

Thanks a bunch for a lot of really great ideas!

Furniture in general is not really that important, I was originally thinking upgradable bed or sofa to increase regular energy regeneration kind of like in the Sims. And a TV but I included that in another group. I do like the idea of limited inventory space though so you have something else to work towards expanding, but it can be done through storage at the bank too.

Yea the more I think about it the more I like the sounds of that. I won't make it's huge priority but I'll be sure that gets in there at some point.

Hey, I got back after being gone for like, 3 days, and I noticed a few updates, and have some questions.

How do you recover your energy, and how does the Auction house work?

You regain 1 energy point every 5 minutes, or you can click on your character in the top right corner and eat items from your inventory to regain energy. The auction house is only semi-completed haha I'll explain everything once it's finished.
