Hi,
I bought the game yesterday and I seriously need a starter guide, something that tells me how to spend the first days, what I should do very soon and what can be left for later.
I already checked GFaq's, but found nothing, just a few in-depths-guides.
Is there something like that somewhere? Or can somewhere tell me what to do first for a successful start in the game?
I've read the manual btw., not very informative. And I checked the info from fogu, which isn't very helpful for me right now.
Thanks in advance.
Starter guide?
there's no real starter guide, although somewhere on the forums is a tongue-in-cheek version. However, I can give some basic advice.
first be aware that you are prettymuch always going to be hungry for the first spring at least.
first plant the 2 turnip seeds you have. (btw, you fill the watering can at the slope on the river side of farm). Then go and collect all the heart shaped grasses. eat all but one blue one. If this is your very first day, talk to taro, save, then offer him the blue grass. If he refuses, just reload, and talk to him everyday, but don't try a gift again for 3 full days. If he accepts give him either 1 grass (heart shaped) or if you have the stamina, 1 lumber (chopped, not branch). lumber is better as you can eat the grass.
Then go to the beach and get the seeweed off the big rock on the left. If you still have stamina, grab the weeds (green and with yellow) and shop what you can.
SHIP the seeweed, do not sell to chen (he pays a tenth of what you get by shipping).
Take every tutorial Taro offers, even though you know what to do. In the planting tutorial he gives you 3 bags of seeds. plant them if you can.
In the other tutorials (except fishing) do what you can to pick the weekds to sell off your farmland.
READ THE LIGHT WATER STICKY!!! the crop system is very different.
On Day 4, if it has not rained, water your turnips twice each. (You planted then on day 2).
If you give taro a gift every day you can, and talk to him every day, and take his tutorials, usually you get the fishing rod on day 10 or 11 (average). Then in the fishing tutorial. Fish as long as you can stand too, eating every other fish. fish will help your hunger. Shipping fish will bring in Denny, Lanna and subvillagers.
Talk to the main people everyday. Talk to the subvillagers every 2-3 days max.
