When you first start the game on the ship, the captain asks you what your favorite food is. Does this affect the storyline/gameplay in any way?

No it doesn't, I have no idea why they ask you that though.

Its been speculated that those types of food would give you more stamina depending on what you chose (If you chose fish, fish would fill you up more, etc.).

I've been speculating the same, but haven't tested it in any way. From what I've read on the internet, it has no affect on gameplay, but that may not be correct.

Now I have another question. I can't find Mira, the lady who refines the gems from the mines, anywhere. How do I unlock her?
