I'm just saying if she wants to go around being all "Hey look, I accomplished THIS in my FOMT game" it seems silly to me, because that's nothing to be envious of. It seems one of her primary goals in doing this is to be able to brag about it, in which case I am telling her she will not be able to brag about it to me - and I am probably one of few other people on this entire site to even come close to getting all the cottages legitimately (if there are others who've done it without a device I haven't heard from them, though admittedly I don't spend a lot of time in this section anymore).
Red Girl87, I will say, from experience, as someone also aiming for the cottages, that you are going to put HOURS AND HOURS (I'm talking hundreds) into doing a task like that, and it's highly likely despite your initial enthusiasm that you'll get sick of it very quickly. You are in year 5... I am in year 25. I think I have some idea how it gets very boring very quickly. What exactly is your strategy for earning 100,000,000 G without the sprites? Where are you planning to get your money if you cannot plant entire fields of plants at a time? If it took you close to 5 years in game time to get your first million... just do the math. You're saying "I need 50 years for the mountain cottage so I can afford to go slowly with this" that will not work at all. If you want to earn both cottages at the same time you'll need 2 million a YEAR. At your current rate it will take you 500 years in game time. That's.. an ungodly amount of real life time. It will take years of your life, unless you play 24 hours a day for weeks on end. THAT is what I mean when I say I have a life.
I'm not trying to get them at the same time, I'm not going to rush into it at all. I like working at my own pace and I don't care if it takes me 100 years to get the town house, I'll be able to enjoy it more because I raised the money for it all by myself. Not for the bragging rights, I have stated that it would be good bragging rights. I won't do that, when I get it I probably will post about it. For me it is a sense of acheivement to do it all by myself.
That is my method and I choose to do that, I don't rub it in people's faces and critisize people for using the sprites. I could easily call those people lazy but I don't. Also, I will not change my chosen D-I-M method just because I am told to. This is my experiance of FOMT and this what I will do. I am glad that it will take me a very long time to earn, just like earning the seaside cottage, that was no easy job but I did it.

I figure that once i get a teleport stone i can get the cottage in 10 years minimal work. Every day go into the lake mine get 9 pink diamonds. At 90000 a day times 120 days, thats 10800000 a year. After 10 years, voila, town cottage. No crops even.
You really won't need to pu thaaaat much effort in...

I'm not tryin' to shut you down for your realism though, either.

Why did you quote yourself and what pounce said?
What is wrong with me doing serious hard work for 10 years or so, then just take care of my animals with no crops for a few years.
That's how I want to do it, and that's my choice. No matter how many times people tell me otherwise, I will earn the cottage my own way and that it that!

No I just wondered that's all.
Ah, on easy days (When it's raining and no crops have matured,) I find that digging up the black grass from the first floor of the spring mine is a nice little earner. I take a backpack full of Elli leaves with me and my basket, clear out all the rocks, then dig up all of the floor - putting the grass in my basket each time. Then I leave go back in and repeat. I do this until my basket is full then go empty it into the shipping bin in my coop, then return.
When he goes blue give him a Elli leaf then continue.

Ok I take everything back. If you can get the town cottage in 10 years the way you are then you'll have my eternal amazement. I'm serious. Go for it. I'll be looking forward to it.

If that's aimed at me, I didn't mean get it in 10 years. I meant do 10 years hard work, then take about 5 years off, then go back to hard work for 10 years etc. That sort of thing.
I just like to take my time, it's how I work best.

Ahhh, so you don't work so hard so long the game ceases to be fun...clever.

Yep!! That's how I'll do it. Then I can spend those 5 years enjoying being rich, enjoying the seaside cottage maybe actually attending festivals and spending time training my dog with the frisbee.
All the stuff I couldn't do when I was working hard and really slacking off. When the novelty really does wear off get my lazy butt back to work!

Ahhh. I'll just use my method for 10 years, and the slack off for the rest of my life! (wow, i sounded really lazy there, btw i'm not like that in real life...)

You don't attend festivals????? Just go at 5:50, then it'll end at 6 and you'll only lose 10 min.

Nope I don't attend the festivals, the only festivals I can make it to is the night time ones. It's because I spend every minute of the day earning as much as possible.
(All this is after animal care.)
Planting days:
Making sure my huge crop plots are all tilted, planting 50 bags of once harvest seeds, watering them. Day gone!
Watering days:
I have mystryle watering can so watering them, most energy gone by the time I'm done. Then forage for a bit, not much money but still better than just the animal income.
Rainy days:
Working out perfect money earners that don't depend on my farm, and foraging.
Harvest days: (and I do mean days!)
Collecting as much of the crops as possible until 8pm, which is about one third of my plots sometimes more.
Then repeat, from top.
I make sure I can attend the horse race though!

I don't plan it that's just how it is. But it seems to get more fun when I get that huge cash ammount after a hard day's work.
