I've looked around online, and i've seen some things. Do you have to beat all the caves in a year? If so i'm in so much trouble Dx.

Hmm... my memory on RF1 is a bit hazy, but it's yes and no.
You can go to the three first caves at any time, so you can complete the storyline part that goes with them whenever you want... however, the last cave, Misty Bloom, is only open during the winter. So either you finish the first three caves before wintertime, or you finish them after winter and you wait another year until winter starts =/ So no you don't have to finish them all in a year, but it'd be inconvenient if you didn't.

You don't have to finish the game in a year. There is a cave, Misty Bloom Cave, that you can only enter when the lake has frozen over (in winter), so you have to either finish this cave before the end of the first winter or wait a whole year 'till it's winter again.

This would give you lots of training and farming time, but it would get reeeally boring.

Edit: Heh, just realised I posted the same thing as Kupo...

Wasn't there a glitch that let you ride anywhere on a wolf, even over the small river thing that surrounds Misty Bloom?

No, but there was a glitch that allowed you to enter either Greed on Dannaan Cave (I forgot which...) by using your wolf, you press start right before the "You cannot enter" notice appears, and then you will be allowed to go in (it lags a bit and you bypass the notice). Very useful for mining more advanced ores.

Don't worry about it =D It's still useful info, and it's good for the topic creator to have another person post for confirmation's sake... I wasn't 100% sure about my info anyways since I haven't played RF1 in a long time, so I'm glad I was correct. XD

*agrees to what they say about Misty Bloom, blah blah blah*

The Greed glitch let you into Greed cave, the last one. You could mine ores, be killed by monsters considerably higher than you, so on so forth. You could even beat the game.

However, if you beat the game using this glitch, you wouldn't be able to ever go into the other caves. :/ So you'd miss out on the caves you haven't gone into. So let's say you've beaten Mt. Gigant and it's only summer and you want to just beat the game without having to wait for Misty Bloom in the winter. You go to Greed cave, do the glitch, yada yada, do some serious leveling up, maybe get the misty bloom pass depending on what you do, and beat the game. You're now unable to go into Danaan and Kasimir, meaning you won't get monsters that are in there, or the ores, or get to see Shannon sometimes. Since I believe you need Kasimir open to marry Shannon, won't be able to meet her.

So, glitch is nice for ores, not for beating game faster. Besides, once Misty Bloom was open in winter I was able to zoom right through the others, beat the game about four days into Spring. could have beat it earlier but then I'd miss the new year festivals. Overall, just took me a year to beat the game. It got REALLY boring then.

Okay, so in order for me not to get bored extremely fast, I need to beat Misty bloom is winter, or else I have to wait a whole year. Alright. I can't wait until I get the second. And then RFF :D Alright. I need to hurrt and beat the other two caves then >_>
