RFF questions

Hi, I don't have this game yet, but here are a few question for March 16.

1. What gifts do Mist, Selphie, Elis, and thin Juni like? I think I'll marry them.

2. What are the controls?

3. How do you get the bean to acess Whale Island in case I marry Elis?

4. This isn't a question, but what I think the english names for the new cast will be;

Drop will remain the same or be Dana
Selphie will probably be Selena
Annette will probably remain the same
Uzuki will probably be April (google translator told me that Uzuki means April)
Juni will probablt be June. It's the clostes thing I can think of.

Candy will either remain the same or be Cindy
Minerva will probably be Marie (just take away some letters, rearrange them.)

5. What are the dungeons and how had are they? Is it like RF2 where difficulty depended on which part of the year that season is in?

Thanks!

1. http://fogu.com/hmforum/viewtopic.php?f ... t=RFF+Info
use ctrl+f

2. I'm using classic controller so ill just put it for classic
Normal:
A: talk, using tools, give item, put item (you can't throw away things anymore), embark boat, talk to monsters,
basically, action button
B:pick up, put in pocket, speed up (boat)
Y:Open Map, Teleport Home
X: Look at Sky (open space only)
(-):Open Ring Shortcut Menu (Tools and Weapons), use analog to switch between, and d-pad to change to with category, A to select
You can also put your tools inside bag by pressing this twice
(+):Open status and bag
D-pad:Edible items shortcut. eat item you have at your hand
Analog: Move
A+B:Charge Tools, Use skill or magic

Menu:
A:select
B:Cancel
Y:Sort item
X:Additional Info, Switch between info, etc depends on category
Analog or D-pad:Move between items
(-) and (+): switch between categories

With Monsters:
Analog: Move
A,B,R:Use skills
L:disembark
Nunchak: Knock on the door

3. Automatic in front of clock tower and one small island at Lake (accessible via boat, for holiday)

4. I don't think there will be much change considering how natsume was and RF setting is, though cant be sure since another company takes it
but Uzuki still likely Uzuki, to keep eastern girl tradition name like Mei and Yue
And i have same feeling for Minerva too

5.
Whale Island: Like RF2, you basically can explore the whole island, and it divided into many sections, deeper you go, stronger enemy. There are also some open spaces area here, but weather won't give any effect.
Some of areas: Cave-Open Space-Tree Trunk-Ruins-Towers
Yes, it's very big! I got lost at ruin area often xD
All Seasons Ruin

Other Ruins, are just like RF, you go deeper into underground. Deeper floor, stronger enemies.
Boss is always at the last floor and you can keep battle them again and again. Those ruins are very big as well and you can find some obstacles, which you need to clear so you can go further (like giant ice block, stone ruins, giant rock ball, etc)
but you can go via a shortcut door and portal to boss though you need to unlock it by reaching that floor first and found the shortcut door area for that floor

This is in difficulty (and storyline) order:
Young Grass Ruin: Spring, 4 floors
Vine Grass Ruin: Summer, 7 Floors
Snow Grass Ruin: Fall, 8 Floors

How to unlock is on link above

Thanks, Syvle! I got so sad when I killed the lizard on RF2. That boss was so much fun! Too bad it'll take AGES before I'll battle it again ;(. You can re-battle bosses with no extra requirements!? Cool! Thanks!

same for mostly, i believe, but can't be sure since i don't have remote with me now
except 1 is for looking at sky and 2 for teleport/open map

My diff rank (easiest to hardest, with as minimum spoiler as possible) so far, but can be different for other, since each might have diff playing style and i haven't cleared all girls event yet:

1. Tabatha
She arrives at Summer first, but it's no big problem. The 3rd to reach 10 LP for me (mid Fall).
She gains LP if you have monsters and take care of them.
And then rice porridge (which can raise her LP 1/3 of parameter or more) is really easy to make, even though it requires at least lvl 60 cooking and kitchen upgrade.
Her love event (happened at 8LP for me) is also easy and simple.
Be careful that you can lost Minerva (come to village at 6LP for Tabatha) if you finished her love event though.

2. Selphy
Comes first relatively at beginning. Mid-Spring. 2nd to reach 10 LP for me, Mid-Fall.
She likes Onigiri, and it's very easy to get and make. Not to mention much of LP bonus from reading new books.
Her love event (happened at love 8 for me)is easy and simple, but I recommend to get some lvl first so you can clear it.

3. Melody
Bath and Bath. No Peeking Girls~
And Grass if you like, though she only accept Spring Grass (red, orange and yellow).
Her Love Event (10LP for me) is so simple with an easy fight.

4. Lapis
Very slow LP at beginning. Strawberry doesn't give much point and her bonus LP is still unknown. Not to mention FP/LP loss if you collapsed.
But after you can make chocolate cake, then it won't be matter anymore.
Her Love Event is also easy to access (begin at LP6 and keep on continue with LP rise), but you need at least lvl 20 Pharmacy and Pharmacy Room Extension first.

5. Juni
Since you can't plant flowers until at least mid-spring, and you can't bake sweet things till you've big kitchen, it might took sometimes.
But if you have kitchen, then cook something at least 1x day, because it'll give her bonus LP and raise your skill as well.
Her Love Event is simple (LP 10), but requires 7 days to clear.
And not confirmed yet, but it seems that if you want to make her slim (LP 4), you must wait for 2 seasons, cause now, it counts as her Love Event.

6. Drop
Fish is easy to get but don't give much LP. Bonus LP from constellation events, and there are not many of them (2-3 every seasons). But you can always hunt some magic crystal and give it to her. It's accessible at 3rd Dungeon, but pretty rare.
Her Love Event (Forgot how many LP it was, likely 10) is very simple.

7. Anette
Not to mention you can only catch her at morning (6-9AM) at beginning (except Summer). She's also not available at Holiday. Getting mails will gives some bonus LP though, and her favorite things are relatively easy to get. Bake Pumpkin Tart if you can (at least lvl 35 cooking and big kitchen).
Her Love Event is simple (Begin at 7 LP), but might takes some time, since you must still raise her LP but no bonus from mail. Thankfully, she's easier to find now.

8. Rosetta
Her LP growth is pretty stable, and she gains more LP if you use shipping box. At lfirst, you think you could get her most liked item easily (Baked Sweet Potato, lvl 10 cooking), but nah. It's not her favorite even though she mentioned special line. It gives so little LP.
Her most favorite item is Cherry Pie (at least lvl 60 cooking and big kitchen).
What's more annoying is her Love Event. It happened at 9 LP for me, and you might need to wait till 1-2 whole seasons to finish this. Since she only available every holiday now. Also lvl 50 Pharmacy.

9. Elis
White Elis is unlockable early and her LP is ridiculously easy to raise because Tomato Juice is easy to get (even though you might need to built kitchen extension first). 1st girl to reach 10LP for me (early summer).
Raising LP is not problem here but it's unlocking the other part, Black Elis and Her Love event which makes her goes down at list.
Still, some people can beat the game at Summer 30, so i don't think she's harder than Mist or Bianca that way.

10. Uzuki
She likes Fish, but it doesn't raise much. Her most favorite thing, Golden Hairstick, requires at least lvl 55 craft and need lot of materials.
Her Bonus LP is also unknown. Will likely 3rd last girl to reach 10LP for me.
Her Love Event (8 LP for me) is simple, but requires at least 7 days or more to finish.

11. Mist
Well, just farm a lot and a lot. And turnip, once a day. But it still raise slowly, because it just only her 'like' item.
Spring is your best chance to get her bonus LP by growing lot of Turnips at your farm.
Her Love Event also requires you to have finished the game.

12. Bianca
Simply because you can't give her present. Only talk, and she come at Summer first.
And to make it worse, she can leave the town after Summer if you've missed one of her event. Will likely the last girl to make it to 10 in my game.
I don't know about Love Event yet, but from what i've read, it seems simple though.

I think Minerva will remain, and personally, I think Selphie could change to "Sophie" or something like that. Also I think Juni could be either June or Julie or July.

...hmm both actually

RF1: girls, hero, some musics, lunch from wife, ruins dungeons (unlike outside, nature feeling of RF2) and weather has no effect, no respawnable monster portal, respawnable mining rocks, recipes book, same way to use weapon skill....

RF2: livelier festival, quests (though not as rich), richer dialogs, 'open' dungeon (still no weather effect), able to fight boss again and again (it got stronger), Magic stat, Kids gender, Fruit Trees...

and its own style, of course
like obstacles at dungeon, diff forging/crafting/fishing system, choosing style for your work room, seasonal date, Rooney, Monster Egg, New and Smarter Monster Job, events, accessories making, different way to use magic, etc
