Well.. It depends on what weapon you're using

I just run up to it, slash it twice, then move while it does it's ice beam attack.. thing.. Then slash it twice again

(This is with a one handed sword.. and I'm not even sure if a tundra is the creature I'm thinking of haha) You're talking about RF1 right? :3

use a one hand sword and stand in one spot and wait until it comes towards you and slash it one time then repeat

It always appear next to you, so run a short way away from it and let it attack. Then, race towards it and attack.

I just use Stone Spike as soon as it appears. xD
If it stuns the monster, I use it 1-2 more times.
Tundras usually fall pretty fast.

or use a spear to attack from far

a fire element spear would work best.
but i didnt have one, so go with a burnin' blade.

A monster sidekick also helps. I used a Hunter Wolf and let them do most the work.

used a spear anyways, took about 2 in game days to kill 4.
I can't use burning blade, since forging is at level 16 right now, too bored to level up.
