That trick was supposed to save the crops in the dungeons, and not your field.

And don't the crops need water to grow too? I don't think that the game will generate new weather for every single day of those years, so maybe if it rains on the day you do the switch or if you tell Alicia to make it rain the day after the switch will rain it all the time for 8 years or whatever.

Kemine that's a good idea, I believe that I still had a stump or two where my crops were but I can't recall whether it was grass or not, I think it was but definitely a good idea as the foraging was a pain in my opinion. I might be worth tiling your dungeon fields if you plan to use them as well due to the stumps, maybe.

Kupo I totally take your point I didn't really mean for it to be added to the guide necessarily just a point to think about for people reading. I guess different people want to be prepared in different ways on the change over and I am not suggesting being over prepared, sorry about that :)

They were NOT destroyed as in stumps and stumps overtaking them but instead wilted. I found this a little unbelievable as grass is something I would imagine would NEVER die unless I cut it down too early. Or does grass die over winter?

Either way, NOTHING on your farmland will survive the jump. I would suggest, if you want a lot of stumps and foraging to do so you can get a lot of wood early in 2nd gen, to cut down all existing crops and destroy any plots (make them untilled, just to be safe), on the day you plan to jump. If you don't to worry about the stumps and stones because your tools are old and can't do anything about them anyways in 2nd gen till you've forged, plant grass on the entire field. This way when you jump, they'll turn to brown weeds. Untilled, mind you, but also easier to get rid of than stumps.

I also don't know about tilled land and whether or not it stays tilled in the jump. If it does, then I'd suggest just tilling the whole land and not plant anything, won't need to till it again.
It's interesting that you mention that part about crops... so if you plant crops in your entire field, chances are they will just wither and die? And not be "overtaken" or replaced by stumps, logs, etc. as they would during a normal storm? Unfortunately I switched right after Winter; it was like Spring 3 or something, so I didn't have any crops planted .__.
If you want Kemine I can add in a note about the crops vs no crops on switchover in the 2nd Gen section...?

You're right... I keep forgetting people also leaf through the pages of this topic, so information posted here's in a good spot to be read and used too^^ My judgment was probably clouded about the preparedness thing, because when I went to 2nd Gen I was like barely prepared; I had enough money and wood but I didn't get the statue items and stuff ahead of time, cause I wanted 2nd Gen to be really hard after 1st Gen was pretty easy.^_^

Me too when I did my first switchover I didn't even get most of the statue requirements as I wanted to really challenge myself in the second Generation. I guess having two files is good because you can try out different tactics when playing without losing all your hard work :)

Oh; a few recent edits...
-Spellbook section had a few errors - now it's fully correct.
-Mining section updated for 2nd Gen. If anyone has any additional info please let me know, since i'm still juggling fishing and mining so it may not be fully complete.
-Statue stuff; the crops in Messhina Valley - Holy Statue don't need to be all the same kind so it was removed.
-Version changed [duhh]

Alright, that is all. Sorry if the second gen updates are taking forever, that's my fault... it's just... well it's slow. .__.

To anyone who might know the answer, where do you find a wooly furball? I need it to make a Miracle axe. I didn't read the ingredients properly and kept using a large fleece...it looks like how I would imagine a wooly furball would look like.

you get Wooly Furballs when you kill a wooly.

You need to defeat a Wooly. They reside at the first map of Trieste Forest (where the Pomme-Pommes are) but at night, so after 6:00 PM. They'll drop the wooly furball.

Thankyou ever-helpful-Kupo  I thought they dropped small fleece. I should probably try things instead of just assuming...

Messhina Valley
Statue 1:
Defeat 3 Buffalo and 4 Queen Bees. The buffalo can be found around the Giant Boulder area, and Queen Bees at Holy Statue (after 6:00 PM).
Statue 2:
You must grow 36 fall crops in the Holy Statue area. Harvest at the same time. Must all be of the same kind.

Statue 3:
This one asks you to bring it 5 silver. Once you do so, it requires you to bring 15 pieces of scrap iron.
Not to be picky but you don't have to harvest the crops, once they are fully grown just walk up to the statue and it disappears. It might be useful if you want to keep the fully grown crops there for RP.

No, no, you're absolutely right. Actually you also reminded me that I need to edit that part because you don't have to harvest them, and because they don't have to be of the same kind either; I just forgot to edit that in. And picky is good! Of course we want the guide to be as accurate as possible, so any tips and corrections are much appreciated^^

I think what they meant by "harvest" is "mature". So if you grow carrots, yams, and peppers, they all need to be mature at one time. So you can't pick the carrots then let the yams grow, doesn't work.

I think that's why it's easiest just to plant the same stuff at the same time, matures at the same time.

Yeah I believe Midnite meant that; so I just replaced it with mature instead.

I'll be adding in the Trieste Forest and Blessia Island sections for Fishing tonight. Other two (three) dungeons will have to wait .___.

Just reach 8 fall in first gen, so I try out the mysterious Ray's birthday gift thing. As it turn out, Ray do acknowledge grape juice as his birthday gift on his birthday and give neutral response for fried rice. I know that on any day that's not his birthday Ray would say that he want fried rice for his birthday gift and give neutral response toward grape juice, but that's just an error in the script. Giving Ray grape juice on his birthday would increase his FP by one.
