No >< Sorry for freaking you out Guestie! We decided it would be a good idea to spread out the guide between all the first five or six posts, but then my Monster Guide (which will soon require editing) was in Misti's post so I wouldn't be able to edit it... but we switched it around and now everything is fixed^^ So it's all good.Guestie :3 wrote:Something's wrong...? Bye Misti! Thanks for all your help - I'll PM you if I need something.

~NEW DISCOVERY~
-- I went out armed with my normal 1st gen Hammer to do some mining. All my other mining expeditions have been with a Battle Hammer. The findings were very interesting!! Note that I always charge my hammer. Usually with my Battle Hammer I get 1-2 Aquamarines in Trieste Forest... with the normal hammer I got 3! In Padova Mts. I got 2 Diamonds with the regular Hammer, while with my Battle Hammer I have only gotten 1 over the course of many many mining expeditions (30+). At Blessia, I got 4 rubies and 1 amethyst with the normal hammer - usually with my Battle Hammer I get 1 ruby.
However, at all the dungeons, I didn't get any Gold, and I only got 1 silver. (usually I get 1 gold or so, and 4-5 silver).
What this means: Normal Hammer increases your change of findings GEMS such as Aquamarine, Ruby, Diamond, Amethyst, Emerald etc. while Battle Hammer increases your chance of finding METALS such as Iron, Silver and Gold. ^^ As for the elemental crystals, they're too rare for me to be able to tell with only one expedition, but over time I'll know. I'll PM MistiRose so that she can update the guides with the new info.

The monster list is nice, although I wish there were more. It seems mostly...1st gen?
On that, an idea. Many people jump into 2nd gen unprepared or overprepared (too high level). I understand that this isn't a walkthrough or an intense guide, but maybe you could do a small section about "What's needed to go into 2nd gen."
Obviously married, baby 15 days later, build the school, finished ten days later, and then approach school. These are the requirements.
Then mention what is actually carried over. Skills? Yes. FP/LP? No. Your level, experience, money, wood, feed, animals and their love, that's all carried over. If you put everything on your shelving, like the brush, clippers, milker, bottles/recovery potions, those carry over (I did just in case...), equipped stuff carries over (like equipped accessories). Also mention that your farm tools do, but go back to rust.
You could also bring up the list of items that are wanted by the statues. Like I've heard pineapple is hard to get in 2nd gen since you can't really do Blessia immediately and you start in spring. The ores are hard to since well...you're too weak for Padova to get the diamonds.
Small stuff like that. Just say what's required, what's suggested, what carries over, and what doesn't. Then the readers can choose what they want to do. They can woo all the girls, they can not go for all the quests, they can just sit and twiddle their thumbs, whatever. But there's threads that say "How do I get around statues and fences!" and now you can answer their question ALONG with preparation.
I can help with that a little, based on my mistakes (wish I'd found a stupid Salmon in my first gen), what I wished I'd done, and what I'm glad I did.

So do, but my dad's borrowing it right now.Midnite Lace wrote:Kemine has an excellent point. I have a list including all the tasks required of you from the statues if you need it.
Here's what I remember...
3 pink turnips
4 aquamarines
5 silver
6 pineapple
15 scrap iron
3 diamonds
6 pineapple
3 (6?) pink cats
6 (?) moondrop
12 apples
I've only done Trieste though, just starting Blessia. And I'm sure there's stuff missing in that list.
Maybe even mention things you'll want from monsters for forging. Like is there stuff that's extremely difficult to get early on in 2nd gen but not that hard in 1st gen for forging?
I don't think the little section would be too long, it'd just be Preparation for 2nd Gen kind of stuff.

Yup. The monster section I did, and I'm still first gen. I'm taking my time and doing everything I can... but when I get to 2nd gen, I'll add on the necessary Fishing/Mining/Monsters additions... I'm getting there >< It will have to be a totally different section for Monsters because the stats of some of them change... I hope when you catch them that the stats are the same as their battle stats and not the same as their first gen counterparts... otherwise I won't be able to find their HP.Kemine wrote:The monster list is nice, although I wish there were more. That's an awesome idea (there's way too much potential for this guide

@MidniteLace - aweeesomme! If you wouldn't mind PMing me with that, that'd seriously rock. ^^
@Kemine: That list looks great. If you have a complete list, or anything to add, feel free to PM me.
As for crediting, I can't full-on bold you since you didn't contribute an entire guide portion, but I can't really leave you un-bolded either... so I'm going to half-bold you =D Is that okay? Thanks very much Kemine^^

Haha, sure. There's not really too much spoilers...and it is the main thing of the game.Kupo wrote:Yup. The monster section I did, and I'm still first gen. That's an awesome idea (there's way too much potential for this guide) Kemine! I'd be glad to make a section for that. It can be divided into Requirements, What Carries Over? and Suggestions. I'll put in a spoiler warning at the beginning so I won't have to be careful with what I mention... though chances are if they've been 'round the forums they already know, it's good to be cautious. I'll get right on it.

Here, I'll PM you what I think should be in the 2nd gen stuff, specially since you're not that far yet. The wait is worth it. I also suggest wooing all the girls cause you get their little "items", but you can't sell those. :/ Might take me a while.
Midnight Lace can get you the list. XD Mine's all off memory, hers will definitely be much better than mine.

I know... I'll make it really minor, but some people like to save everything (although those people shouldn't really be on forums for safety's sake). I'll make it very minor.Kemine wrote: Haha, sure. There's not really too much spoilers...and it is the main thing of the game.

That'd be awesome^^ I've already married Dorothy but I wooed most of them... not all.>< I wish I had... I didn't know all their quests would disappear when I got married, though I guess that was common sense... ._.
Yes please, MidniteLace. That would be awesome!^^

About the elemental crystals... I've done some mining with both hammers, the battle hammer and the normal one. I find that the normal hammer brings out more crystals than the battle hammer. Just wanted to add that.Kupo wrote:~NEW DISCOVERY~

@MidniteLace: Thank you so much! I'll ask MistiRose to put your name in the credits list. Now I'm waiting for Kemine's PM, then I'll start on the section.
Great! I'll have to PM MistiRose about that... lol, she has sole editing privileges of the Fishing/Mining/Crops section so some stuff will have to wait. She isn't constantly on like me... *realizes he is a total freak* She's more sane =P..::Oasis::.. wrote: About the elemental crystals...
