I use mainly two-handed swords. (Katanas FTW)

But I always carry either my Ice Staff, Lighting Rod, or my Silver Staff for magic

I carry around a ton of onehanded swords too such as the Sakura, Star Saber, and Gravios

I guess a lot of people use one-handed swords.
I'm dying to try the Sakura Sword once I have a high skill level to make it myself.

I hate the one-handed broadsword that Tanya first sells in her shop. Sure, it's fast, but the combo FORCES you to move in the same direction and finish up all that useless slashing even if you're missing the monsters completely. The 2 handed sword has a shorter combo and a much wider range, and it BLOWs back monsters so you have enough time to slash twice and kill them. (Same with how axes & hammers work. really slow weapons, but they push your opponents back.)

So until there are some better 1 hand swords in the game, i'm sticking with my claymore. (waiting to move onto 2nd gen..)

I usually use either a rod type weapon and a one handed weapon because you can use a shield with these two types of weapons :) ...I usually forge and create axes, spears, and two handed swords just to raise my forging skill levels, to see what each looks like, and I also like reading the descriptions for each weapon.

I've been using 1 handed mostly though I tried the Psycho blade that Tanya had given me.

Psycho just took too long to swing. :/ The 1 handed I was able to swing, run, no waiting so that the monster could kill me.

I'm planning to do other stuff though. I want to get a wide variety. Once my forging skill level is up, I'll try making some other things. Maybe I'll try that claymore.

Although magic is nice too, I'm using that more often now than in RF1 simply because it seems to do more damage sometimes and, if I don't have a good elemental sword, I can just use magic instead.

I once fought with my farm hammer. XD I was frustrated that it wouldn't let me mine so I just kept swinging at the monsters and the monster balls. Not as much damage but oh well.

When do you get this Magical Lance? Jake is at...I think 3 FP? 2nd gen.

I like to use every kind of weapon... well, maybe except hammers and axes. The combos I can make are really good.
For example:

Longsword + Naive Blade
Shortsword + Rush Attack
Spear + Hundred Cracker

The last one is really my favorite. I like to make weapons and I carry almost all of them with me :D

Well my character was a mage so she used a staff to increase her spell powers, but when I had to fight melee she used a short short so she could get her Element Shield bonuses.

FARM TOOLS! Hammer is the best out of the farm tools. But fighting with a watering can is really fun(ny). [fun+funny.]
