Do you prefer RF1 or 2?

I never bothered to get the first one but now they seem interesting... but I'm not sure if I should get 1 or 2. Opinions?

I think that RF1 is a good introduction to RF2. It prepares you in a sense for all that's in RF2. Cecilia is always talking about Raguna and those people.

RF1 also is an easy transition for traditional harvest moon farmers to move into the farming + fighting. I also think that it's usually best to play/read/watch things in order. You wouldn't read a sequel before reading the first book often, so why do the same with games?

Besides, RF1 doesn't take too long to beat. Took me a year in game.

However, if you're already playing RF2 and enjoy it, RF1 could be annoying and a little boring. RF2 is better simply because RF1 allowed the producers to see what went wrong and fix it.

So....yeah. I bought RF1 when it came out and then bought RF2 when it came out. Beat the first one when I bought it and working on RF2 still.

Kemine's correct. If you're already playing RF2, RF1 probably won't please you very much - it's like using an old version of something new... the core gameplay is still similar but basically RF2 is just an improved version of RF1. I still fully recommend playing both as they're both awesome games... RF2 is a bit better but both are great.^_^

I think that you can't go wrong with getting either one. Personally, I haven't played RF1, but now I'm playing RF2...I've also read that the two games (RF1 and RF2) are pretty similar and RF2 has slightly more improved controls and more items, but that's about it...

But ultimately the decision is up to you and whichever one you choose I hope that you enjoy the game

From your post, it seems like you don't have either RF. If that's the case, then I suggest getting RF1 from the nearest gamestop just because it is first and it will give you a good introduction to the RF world. I saw it yesterday for a not so expensive price; probably around 20 dollars. I personally don't have RF2 yet, but I hear the gameplay and controls are better and it will keep you playing for much longer than RF1. I hope that helps.

lul. I only have RF2.

Though I remember I was put off from wanting any RF for a while because I'd always read that the potential wives didn't have anything close to personalities.
Eh. I don't think I'd bother with it. RF2 is pretty nice though.

It's true. They're like robots, which is why I've kept Raguna single. XD

With the new nintendo-DSI, RF3 will make both these games seem pointless :P Also, It's not like wives become genious in RF2, they only stand there all day/night. A month later they have a point. Of course, I still havent played RF1 so I can't give a good comparison.

RF2 has gotten boring quicker (mind you, I'm only in the 1st gen and I EXPECT the 2nd get to fix that). They should have made the bachelorettes harder and given more to do in the 1st gen.

I think that... if you add up the time of the 1st gen+2nd gen, it's better than RF1 and you don't get bored as fast. Both need improvement, but I think I'll like RF2 better. RF1 was still wicked.

Thing is, if they made the wives harder, the second gen. would take longer to get to.

Both are lacking certain qualities that I was expecting them to have, but they pleased me none the less.

I like them about the same, but RF2 was far more intricately detailed than the first, but it seemed to be a repeat with a few things thrown in to make an improvisation.

Whatever, I like them no matter how many people say that they're reject games.

I hope RFF is better than the first two, but that might be hard to beat.

Yes, but if they added other things to the first generation then it would balance it all out better.
I just got married so generation two is coming soon. . . soon. >__>;

But all I ever do in the first generation seems to be watering my crops on the farm, running to the different dungeons to water the crops there, fish, fish, fish, fish for the damn elusive carp to give to Dorothy XD, talk to everyone, go out and battle some monsters with my own monster in tow and then.. go to sleep. Which basically only takes me up until 3PM and that's pushing it.

Who sleeps at 3PM? ._.
Add more stuff and I'd be happy. More requests in generation one would have been nice. I didn't get to finish *all* of the girls requests because I got so bored, I just wanted to marry already and be done with it. XD
