you can get both in 2nd generation from Yue if you ask her for a bargain. It depends on what day you ask her for a bargain, since everyday as a different selection of stuff.

I do believe she sells it in the area to the right of the school. Alvarna...something path. There is one day she doesn't sell stuff, but I forgot which day that was. I believe its a holiday...

Yea, I've seen her there on Wednsday and another day (When she sells the stuff for the kitchen).
But I've camped out there for the days I can't find her on. Does she go out on different days in different seasons?

no. she pretty much stays in her spouse's house (if you marry someone with a rival) and just sticks around where she sells her stuff. She doesn't move around as much as she did in 1st generation.
