So, I've heard many great things about The World Ends With You. And I'm really tempted to buy it, and despite all my research on the game... I still don't really understand what the plot is. :D;

You're a teenager who just woke up in Shibuya and then what?

I just completed it. :D It's brilliant.

Basically you wake up in Shibuya as Neku Sakuraba, and you ahve no idea of any of your past. You know nothing except your name.
Basically you died, ended up in this game. If you can manage to make it to day 7 and win, you get to go back to life.
You have to fight people/noise using pins (which have powers, like being able to throw things round, or set noise on fire).
You have to pair up: Shiki's the girl you pair up with first.
Noise: 'monsters' commonly based on animals that attck you. You may have to beat them to get to certai areas or to complete a mission.

It's a wonderful game, I admit that, but I think some people overrate it too much. The plot and such were unique and such, yeah, yeah, but when I played it, I didn't think it was as ~*omfg so fantastical*~ when I played it as some people made it out to be. It's still a great game though. I'd go and get it for sure.

You'll understand the plot more when you actually play the game. I didn't really know what it was about either at first glance, but when I played it and progressed futher in it I understood more and more.

Thanks a « Snuggly Bunny » lot, you just ruined my game. ;~;

YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SAY THAT.

OP: The main character, Neku, has amnesia problems. His partner, Shiki, will occasionally drop hints about how "the Game" works.

You're stuck in Shibuya for now, and if you fail to complete a mission you're "erased". Later on, you find out there's other players too, and you'll find about who runs "the Game". I don't want to spoil too much, but you'll find out a lot of weird things, like how if one "team" (Shiki & Neku for example) finishes their objective for the day, the others don't have to. But if nobody finishes, then they all get erased.

So this game has a time-limit?

It's not really a time limit game. Once you complete the mission of the day then you go onto the next day. You can spend a year in real time trying to solve the mission for the first day and it'll still be day one in game.

I don't understand people who get so anal about spoilers, really. I could just be a « Sheep Squeezer » and spoil the rest for you, but I won't. You're going to learn about it eventually, but that's just my way of thinking. We all have different opinions.

Yeah, well, it's a question of, you just posted what still hasn't been explained to me in day 4.

Yeah, it's weird but it's not time-based at all. It's just the characters who refer to it. I think it's because Shibuya becomes so distorted that time itself is all relative.

I became addicted. 80+ hours in one month. owo I think my favorite thing about the game is the soundtrack; that part really pulled me in. I would start getting into battles just to see what track would pop out, since the music is randomized for normal battles.

The battle system was really frustrating for me at first, but I started liking it more and more as I practiced. There are still some aspects about it that bug me, but I like it over all.

So I'm assuming that this game has alternate endings? Depending on whether you do bad or good? ( > .<)

It's a great game, I'm practically addicted to it, and it's still interesting and fun after you 'beat' the main plot 8D

It has two different endings, but one is much harder to reach than the other XP
