I know the monsters are supposed to retain their FPs, but mine didn't!

Why...? And did this happen to anyone else?

Hmm. Monsters consume a small amount of feed during the 8 years (certainly not 8 years worth, but I think it's somewhere around 50-100), so if you left your feed bin empty that may have caused it. If you had plenty of feed, it's probably just a glitch; brush them daily and the FP will be back within less than a month.^^

Grr, I know I had more than 100 feed. That makes me grumpy. Not that getting their FP back up is difficult...but still. :x

I've heard it's that you need at least 500 feed. I wouldn't know for sure, I had over 6k, but I think that's right.

Actually I think Kemine is right. Now that I analyze it properly I remember I had over 1000 feed before the gen switch, but right now I only have around 400-500. Either my monsters ate a lot of food after the switch, or during the switch (the latter seems more probable). Sorry about that mistake ._.

That's part of it too, most likely. I think the 500 is assumed for those who have the whole full 16 animals. And I don't think it's that each animal gets 1 a day. With my 15 animals, I'd go through 1800 a year. So, that'd be way too much. Even if there were just one animal, it'd be over 960.

I think they just say 500 so that you don't give up over 10,000 food but then still have to feed it. In theory.

Wait, do you guys still have exactly the amount of feed you had from 1st gen when you transfer to 2nd? Or does the feed count go down?

-I may have to edit this in the mini guide, because i always thought feed was negligible for transferring because somewhere in CrazyDAC's guide, it said feed doesnt lower in number when you switch, meaning the monsters didn't consume any..

Seems unlikely that they'd consume feed during the 8 years... insinuating that NOBODY has entered that barn in 8 years to even look at the monsters and they're starving in there. Creepy.
But I assume it's more like the crops getting damaged in the caves during the switch, like 2 hurricanes hit them or so. Friend points drop with everyone.
But with a little brushing they come right back up.

I belieeeeeeve my monsters FP stayed up during the switch, and I didn't check the feed, I know I also had around 1000 feed at the time.

My monsters FP was still at 10 after the switch, I had at least 1000 feed and 16 monsters - I didn't check if any was used but I am redoing the first gen on my second file so will make a note when I switch over.

That's also a good idea. If I'd known how many RARE items I'd need for 2nd gen, I'd have saved a lot more stuff... rare fish & diamonds, etc. I'm considering starting a 2nd file to get it right this time. XD
Yeah, post a note when you find out! :lala:

Cool I will though it won't be for a while as I want to play the whole Year, if I get married after the shooting star festival I will be ready to switch around Spring 3. I'm on holiday this week so intense RF playing has commenced - and pokemon watching lol.

I don't have the exact numbers, but I ended gen one in mid fall, with well over 8000 feed. On Spring 2 of gen two, I had 7700. It seemed to me, like my monsters ate about a month and a half of food, the time from Fall to Spring... Also, I stopped watering my plants once I got married. In those few weeks, I had only a few days of rain (like 3-4), but when I moved to gen 2, some of my cave crops were fully mature, my strawberries, and daikons, but my phantom crops didn't even sprout... So, even assuming I had 4 days of rain between getting married and finishing the school, I must have gotten another 4. So, I'm thinking time just passes up to Spring 2 again.

Yes to me D: I had that and I was so confused. But I just kept doing what I usually do >: and it eventually rose. I suppose it does have something to so with the feed XD

I just happened to be moving into the second gen when I saw this topic.

I didn't note down the exact numbers, but it went from around 2100 to around 1600.

So! I'm guessing it takes away 500 feed :D
