I was wondering about items in your inventory, like jewels and metal and monster items, do they stay in your house for the 2nd generation character to use, or am I wasting my time stockpiling all this stuff? I'd really like to find out before it's too late.

Yeah, the items that you put in your fridge and shelf stay there for the second generation.

You keep all the stuff you collected... though, your farming tools become pratically useless after the transition(someone obviously wasn't take good care of them), so you'd probably want to make sure you're well secured... meaning, you have enough feed for any monsters you may have, so you don't have to be out buying food for them constantly. Just the same, since you'll be spending most of your money on upgrading your barn and the school, you'll want money and wood. Yue also ends up selling some things you'll need to help improve your skills, so money does end up playing a really big factor to the second generation.

That's a relief to know, I'll keep myself well stocked then. What happens to the tools? Are they unusable in the second generation? I hope not, I play this game assuming I can grow crops.

You can still use them... just not as easily as in the first generation... over time, they've become... older... and well, honestly, unkept, no one has been using them for all those years, and obviously no one took care of them, either. If you try to clear your whole field and use it... it might take some time... until you begin upgrading them, anyway.

If you want to upgrade the tools more quickly, make sure you have enough wood and money to make the school larger and build a workshop. It would also help if you stored some ores, as you'll be needing lots of iron, bronze, silver etc. That is if you want to upgrade the tools more quickly...

Remember to have at least 600 feed +, since most of it will be used up in the transition between Gen. 1 and 2.
