Just one question: how do I get the kitchen? It's on a Monday in 2nd Gen, and I'm speaking to Yue. How do I get it? I've opened up the window to her shop and there isn't a kitchen there.

You have to select "I want a bargain" or something.

^^ Correct. Every day she will sell a different item, and her schedule changes around a bit, so on the way to school everyday check in with her (she gets to her selling spot at 9:00 AM, but she only goes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday I believe) to see what she has in stock. Just buy the Large Kitchen right off the bat, don't bother with the small. Oh, and you need to extend the school with a workshop first.

Well... you don't need the library or dojo for anything Yue sells, though they're good to have. All her stuff fits in the workshop.

You don't need the dojo for anything Yues sells, however, you need the Dojo to gain certain spells and you can also find one maybe more in the library.

EDIT: I think Barret also gives you those special seals (for the weapons?)

Barrett does give you weapon seals. As the challenges get harder, they change from green to purple to blue :D. I think that's their order of power.
