Barret- Dark hair, blue eyes, quiet/mean demeanor
Dorothy- Greenish hair, red eyes, quiet/shy
Leonel- Blonde hair, blue eyes, cheerful, ...girly

Jake- Grey/Silver hair, Dark eyes, racist/hates humans, violent
Cecilia- Orangey hair, Green eyes, likes humans, peaceful
Orland- Bleach Blonde, Blue eyes, Narcissistic

Ray- Dark purple hair, dark blue eyes, kind
Rosiland- Blue hair, Green eyes, a little weird
Twins- Lavander hair, Blue eyes, Cryptic

Sera and Serena look more like Alicia then their parents, and she's only their aunt.

So Natsume, did all the wives cheat on their husbands or something?

They could have recessive genes... Maybe the traits skipped a gen or somethin'.

Meh. I think Marvelous just wanted the kids to look more unique. If they looked like their parents, people would say that Marvelous got lazy on character design and just re-used the aspects of the parents. It would of course have been more realistic; but I think it's kinda cool that you get new-looking characters with new personalities; it's like a breath of fresh air^^ Which I really liked.

It's interesting and all, but I always thought the Rune Factory games were meant to be a little more realistic. Oh well...

If they were too realistic it would't be a fantasy game.

Kids don't always have to look like their parents. They could have gotten a gene from a grandparent or other relative.

I thought the children resembled their parents very well. The only wild card exception was if Yue married into a family, at which point you might expect some black hair or Asian features to show up.

Well, you own kid doesn't look like your wife either. Because no matter who you marry, the boy and girl will look the same!!

Actually, Aria & Aaron have Mana & Kyle's features. The red hair and LARGE eyes. So maybe they based it off the "hero-heroine" theme in the game.

Not really...

Leonel looks like his parents:
- blue eyes - from Barrett
- blonde hair - from Dorothy
- personality - from Dorothy. Dorothy probably also would be jolly and smiled if she wasn't damn shy.

Orland:
He is a lot like his father; white hair and cold personality.

The twins:
They don't need to be copy of their parents. The hair's color is a result of mixing blue x dark brown together. I think...

Your child looks like Kyle.

I think the twins' hair color is just a lighter shade of Ray's. I don't see how Dorothy is blonde and Orland has white hair. ._.
