Toros Cave seems to have the most stumps and wood in it. Clear all of the plots of land in toros and wait for wood to spawn. Clear the caves and your farm, and wait for wood to magically spring up overnight :D
Like others have said; patience is key. It's not like you can go somewhere and get wood - you have to be patient and chop some every day. Clear all the fields you can; don't plow any fields or no wood will show up. I guess leave a bit plowed on your farm, but leave as much as you can open, even in all the dungeons. Cut wood every day and remove all the grasses/stones etc. so that more wood can spawn the next day... that's all there is too it =/ Chop the logs and the stumps; the stumps give a lot of wood.
