So I definitely need a better sword. My steel sword is level 10 so it has a good amount of attack... but I need more .___. I can get the forging level up myself, I just don't know what "path" to take. The "ultimate" sword seems like such a bit of a pain, and the elemental swords have ups and downs. I was thinking of the "Luck Blade" path (-> Smash Blade -> Gladius) but I don't know how good that would be. It doesn't have to be my "final" sword, but it has to be decent^^
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I don't think you need to make a smash blade. After all you could get it from one of Barrett's quest in 2nd gen. I'm not sure which quest though. Probably his power glove quest.

Just try different stuff out. Since you're able to buy plenty of swords from Tanya, you don't quite need to worry about ruining something and not being able to make other swords.

Also, you're going to be getting other fun swords during quests. I personally love the gorgeous Sword right now. And really, just trying out stuff works. Try the longswords, spears, etc. You'll also be getting your skill up at the same time.
