For higher-level food you need to cook using higher level ingredients.
The formula for the level of the dish is the sum of the levels of all the ingredients divided by the number of ingredients. To make the level 5 seafood pizza the total level of all your ingredients has to be 25 (25 divided by 5 ingredients = 5).

The flour is going to be level 1, from the general store. The cheese can be level 2, from large level-2 milk. The ketchup has to be level 2 - for this, you'll need either a level 2 onion and level 2 tomato (use greenifier) to make the ketchup, or you can use Inquisitive Waltz to find the crops (I hear you can find onion in Trieste Forest and tomato in Blessia Island but I haven't been able to find any...). Then you need a level 10 squid and a level 10 shrimp. That makes...
10 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 25.

This is a very difficult contest so it might be best to wait another year and gather up all the ingredients. Squid can only be caught in Spring anyways so unless you have one you can't even make the pizza. By the way, Yue's seafood pizza won't win you the contest, unfortunately.

Okay thanks. That makes sense. By the way, what's the Inquisitive Waltz?

Midnite Lace wrote this; I find myself using it very often to answer questions...

1-Second Generation.
2-Build a Library
3-Get Striking March from the Inn, the room at the right in the first floor.
4-Go to the library and get Inquisitive Waltz.
5-Go to a dungeon and bring any tamed moster along with you.
6-Clear the field in the area of the dungeon you are in. Make sure you have defeated any monsters.
7.Use the Inquisitive Waltz and the Monster should bring you various items, including Golden Crops.
Follow those instructions and you're set. It's basically a spell (it uses up RP), except it uses the Communication skill instead of Magic.
