If you're going to ask that question, I would have to say...YES. There are some good features that IOH didn't have.

Positives:
-No annoying sub-villagers (only 8 subs) :)
-1 new bachelor and bachelorette
-Witch Princess has a niece who lives with her
-Alisa is a bachelorette (But you can't marry her) :(
-You get a cat and pig as pets :lala:
-Your spouse makes you food every day :P
-Unlock new islands
-Get married with gowns and tuxes
-Picking items are a lot faster and a time saver
-You get a different colored horse (But you can't ride it)
-You can pick one from TWO dogs (Each have different colors)
-Certain areas of your farm are on small islands
-Your field is a bit smaller than IOH
-Watering Area is close by (Don't need to run across the field)
-Horse Racing and Dog frisbee catching returns

I think that's all. I'm probably missing some things.

Negatives:
-Can't ride your horse
-Alisa rejects your proposal when you give her the blue feather
-Child selection is the same as IOH (Just brown hair and eyes)
-Only EIGHT sub-villagers (good for some people but some people don't like it)
-Fishing and Mining is a LOT HARDER than IOH
-Wonderfuls are harder to collect

Can you elaborate how mining and fishing is harder?

And personally, I don't count a smaller field as a positive. But that's because I like farming and quite enjoy IOH's change in the crop system (or did they go back to the "just-water-everyday-and-they-will-grow" system?). But I know most people would disagree with me.

Is the Alisa rejecting you thing a glitch or was it intentional?

Simply put, there are now mining and fishing point and that set something like limit for your mining and fishing progress

you cant go further direct to 255 or get L fish since beginning anymore, but you need to raise your points before you can go further inside mine or catch more valuable things
you raise points by shipping fish/mine items, smash rocks, cool down lava, tile ground etc

and there are also lava now at mine, which decrease possibility for rocks or hinder you to find stair
on the bright side, you can get Youkan/Some kind of Jelly, by cooling it down which make good gifts for townspeople

And the farming still same, although i dont know why i find it easier....

Intentional
It's an event, not simply 'reject' line

She's a nun. I heard really devout nuns are not allowed to marry. But me and my family are not religious, so I don't know details why.

Well, I heard there's a fishing skill level thingy where at first you catch most small fish and rarely medium fish. So you need to up your skill level to catch better fish. It takes a LONG time. Don't know about the mining though but I heard somewhere on this forum about the mining being hard like higher quality gems and ores are
rare to get especially past floor 175. For the smaller field, it can be a positive for some people because they preferably use the greenhouse instead of the field 'cause of the new crop system issue. And less weeds to pick up.

Actually, that fishing system sounds better than IoH; I hated that it was random because I could never find L fish like, EVER. :/ Mining...bah, I never go mining anyways, so it can do whatever it wants.

And what's this about Wonderfuls are harder to find than in IoH? Seriously?? I thought they were hard enough to find in IoH. *dies* I'm never going to have any Wonderfuls. :(

Random: I really hope this Sun Point « Puppy Doodoo » isn't going to become the new standard for the series; I really hate it. :<

The wonderfuls are harder to collect because you can't do the reload trick after winning festivals to get the wonderful you want like in IOH. No matter how many times you reload, it's the same color. The color you get depends on the weather. So it's just random. That's what I've read about here. :?

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. :/ Is there still the option to buy them during Winter? If so, does that also mean you can't save/reload for them there?

I'll elaborate on the nun thing.

In nearly all Christian sects (there are a few protestant branches that all allow for it, however these sects usually allow priests to marry as well), nuns cannot get married. some catholic nuns participate in a marriage ceremony to the trinity (g0d, jesvs, and holy spirit) and wear a wedding ring, but after they take vows of chastity, they consider it a life-long commitment. I'm assuming that Nathan and Alisa are Jesuit, so these rules would apply to Alisa (Jesuits had a strong missionary influence in Japanese societies in the late 19th, early 20th century).

Most sects also don't allow priests to get married. It comes from a papal edict dating to the 4th century from Pope Siricius. The idea was that men of the cloth (priests) could not focus on G0d if they were also participating in carnal activity (« Chicken Hugging »).

But I didn't know that about Alisa being a bachelorette. That's pretty interesting.

/way more information that you ever asked for.
