I accidentally smacked my baby cow with a hammer (thought I had the brush equipped), and it ran from me.
I was just wondering, does hitting them with a tool make them lose hearts?
I forgot how many hearts she had before I hit her, so I don't know.

I dunno, I accidentally hit one of my full-grown cows with a tool one day, and it didn't lose any hearts. It still has the same number of hearts as the rest of my cows (I bought them all at the same time as I'm not fooling with birthing any until I get one of them to level up). I'm sure it lost some LP, but it didn't lose any hearts. It probably means it'll gain another heart long after all the others have, but meh.

I know it's a popular sport in IoH, but it's not a good idea to do it daily...

I tend to accidentally attack my animals quite alot.

I was trying to shear my sheep once, so I trapped it in a corner, and went to swap my axe with my shears. But I didn't realise I hadn't attached the shears properly, and hit my sheep with the axe. It then tried frantically running away, but coz it was trapped in the corner it was just running from side to side xD

And I accidentally hit my chicken with a hammer once

I think I sickled my cow once, but I freaked out and re-loaded, there's no way I could live with myself, if I hurted my poor big sparkly eyed cows D:

I have a special barn full with my slave animals. They get wacked with whips and axes and there job is to eat this great field of grass.

That's why I could never marry the Witch; the guilt of killing 50 animals would be too great for me. XD

You would probably loose some... LP, right? But not a whole heart level. But that's just my guess, never tried, never will. o 3o Though I would happily run around wacking innocent villagers with a hammer. The ones that I don't like, anyway.

hitting them is never a good thing. I tried to kill my useless goat in wonderful life that way....it stresses them out and makes them lose hearts.

and I didn't kill my goat....I finally made her sick and then the guilt hit me so I made her better again. .__.

Some people will think it is not posiible to hit animals because it isn't possible to hit people, i thought that and hit my dog.

Off Topic: When you think about it, don't you wish you could hit people in Harvest Moon? It would be so cool to tell people how much you hate them with your tools xD.

On Topic: I try not to hit my animals. Even if I do it by accident, I'll feel really guitly and reload my game. I save every night so good for me :3.
