but im sure you can get one from the beginning, if you want
just buy simple sword from Ganesha, you have enough money for it, then go to the whale island
Goblin is the easiest monster you can fight and warrior symbol is an easy to get item, beside you can also meet Melody at same time, so you can take a bath if you need to restore your energy

make note though that you cant meet him anymore after 6PM before you have 3 FP with him
so try to get one before evening

There's this one spot at mountain where you can observe stars every night (by pressing 1 button or x, if im not mistaken)
if you go and watch there at right time, you might see a constellation
after you've seen it, report to Drop (to get bonus LP) and then talk to respective girl, depends on which constellation you've seen to get a small event (or even a bit longer, in Bianca or Anette case)
you might end up with items or bonus stats as
