does it cost more to buy one directly from natsume?

For those wondering if the program is still going, I just called Natsume a few minutes ago since I still need to send in mine. The program is still going on, same details as in the first post.

Thanks for the update, because while I've had the game for awhile, I just started playing it. I was wondering if I'd still be able to return it.

there's no proof of purchase associated with the program. all you have to do is send in a copy of the old disk.

I sent mine in on Saturday (or rather had my dad do it), still haven't gotten it back, but to tell you the truth I kinda forgot about it...I've been playing Pokemon Platinum lately so it's not that big of a deal.

Update: Got it yesterday (Friday). Still working on trying to marry Calvin . From what I've seen, they didn't truly fix the glitch, they just moved his position so the game can't freeze. IIRC he was usually on the 10th floor of the mines, and he hasn't been there all Fall (for about 15 in game days). Maybe they couldn't fix the glitch the other way or something or maybe he just doesn't hang around the 10th floor during the Fall...

Question: Has anybody sent the game to Natsume from Canada? Did you have any problems with Customs fees or taxes? I've been charged Customs fees on product exchanges before, so I'm curious if Natsume properly labels the package so that I won't have to pay for my new disc.

Yeah I too was wondering if anybody living in Canada was able to send it in and how it turned out for them, because I want to send my copy in as soon as I can.

Well, I'm not sure about shipping it from Canada, but I sent it in 2 weeks ago on Friday and got it back last Thursday. It took three days to get there and three days to get back.

Actually, and I'm pretty sure about this since I've been raising his heart level before sending it in, but Calvin is usually always in the first floor of the mine after you meet him and I'm also in my Fall season. They can't really move his position since the thing that glitches is a scene. Or at the very least, since I tried the event before sending it in and finally completed it today, I can say, that they didn't move him.

Were you able to activate the scene at which the game freezes yet?

Calvin doesn't start appearing on the 10th floor of the mine for his request event until he has 5 hearts.

Hmmm that's weird, I remember seeing him on the 10th floor a few times...maybe it was my imagination. Ah well. And no, I haven't activated the scene yet, but it's out of laziness, I got distracted with HMDS Cute again . I still have him at two hearts (mining hates me XD stupid geysers). I'll record the scene when I get a chance.

it's probably not necessary to send a note, but it would make your intentions more clear. I would include a note stating what you would like and include your return address and a way to contact you (phone or email) in the note. the envelope can sometimes be damaged and the return address becomes illegible during transport. better safe than sorry.
