Unfortunately that doesn't work. I think who ever typed that was sort of testing stuff out (they ask: "Other way around?" because they're wondering.) It's hard to kill your Homestead anyway, and even if you did it would be of no benefit.Annoyed player wrote:I read somewhere if you let all area's go extinct plants will grow as normal, as opposed to having like, one area still alive and have it cause a slow down.
I really hope this is true because I realized my problem too late and then when I tried to fix it it blew up in my face and really makes this game not worth playing seeing as how I got a lot of relationship points and gear and I don't want to start over.
This is what I read over at Gamefaqs.All Areas Prosper = No Effect on growth of crops (If a flower takes 100 days to grow, it will grow for 100 days and then be able to harvest.)
8 Areas Prosper, 1 alive/dead = Effect on growth of crops (If a flower takes 100 days to grow, it'll take less days to harvest.)
Other way around?
All Areas extinct = No effect on growth of crops (If a flower takes 100 days to grow, it will grow for 100 days and then be able to harvest.)
1 Area Alive, everything else extinct = Crops will begin dying, take a loooong time for them to be "harvestable."
So basically, don't make everything prosper. <__<;;
And by flower I could also mean a crop, like a Cucumber could take 18 days (I think that's the real number...iunno.) to grow up, it'll take less if 8 areas are prosper.

Aw, ok well.. I'll just start over, seeing as how my runey situation got so out of hand on my current file it's almost impossible to fix.
It looked good for a few days and then everything started to die again. ;~;...
I'm still marrying Eunice dammit!!
Maybe I'll do better this time, who knows.
I just hope that the runeys stay in check this time. I suppose keeping them balanced would be a good idea, but I know even when they're balanced sometimes they still deplete and that's really a downer. <_<

Sure thing. Just give credit to Kupo from Ushi no Tane Forums... and if you could, make the credit so it's at least visible (I've written guides for other sites for other games, and some people like to put credit in tiny print at the bottom - not saying you would do that, just letting you know...). I hope the site works out well!Anonymous Fish wrote:My friend and I are setting up a Harvest moon/Rune factory site and I was wondering if it was ok to use the information from your Runey guide. Back in the day when I was actually active on this board I used to throw around my Runey mini-guide at whoever was having problems. Now that I don't ever come here any more I figured I should put it somewhere easy to find.
Kupo, if you want to copy-paste it into your guide that's fine by me, if you're all like "Back off ho this is my mini-guide turf! >:O" I'd understand as well.

Saccha wrote:Alright, basically, the only thing you need for this game is at least one area in prosperity, one place producing grass runeys, and no dead spots.
With no further ado I present to you.... The Saccha Method
So, pick a spot to get to prosperity (at least 35 of each), and get it there. I recommend the Homestead, because runeys don't eat each other there, so you can use it as a source of grass runeys as well as other runeys. Once you get a large number of each kind of runey, (50 or more) start skimming off the top and keeping these runeys in your rucksack. If any of your areas gets into trouble you can use these to get it out of trouble.
Now that you have a decent amount of water/rock runeys make a grass factory. Pick a spot (I recommend Road to Beach) and suck up all tree runeys in that area. Put in as many water runeys that will fit (60) and a handful of rock runeys (optional), for the water runeys to eat. Now, make sure you leave at least ten grass runeys there at all times. If you start running low on water runeys you have two choices, use rock runeys for a while, or let the factory rest for a few days while you build up your water population. NOTE: Building a grass factory may take an entire day or so, so plan accordingly.
After that, get as many areas to prosperity as you want. You can almost completely ignore a few areas if you want, just if they get into the danger zone (turning red) then run over, throw 10-20 runeys of each kind in there, and then go back to ignoring it.
Either DAILY or EVERY OTHER DAY, run up the clocktower and keep your eyes on the following things
Areas in prosperity: do they need more grass? if the population of the w/r/t is at max, go skim some off
Grass factory: Are there at least 30 grass? if so go vacuum some up, don't forget to restock the water runeys
Danger zones: go throw runeys at them if they exist. if not, ignore ignore ignore
REMEMBER:
The first 7 days of a month is basically a breather. Runeys will increase at a rate of 1 of each in each area, areas without a specific type of runey will not get more of them (what I mean is don't worry about removing unwanted tree runeys from your grass factory). Take this time to relax and concentrate on other things.
ON THE TWENTIETH, one area will grow by 20 random runeys and that is all that will happen, the runeys will basically not-function that day otherwise.
Um, tell me if you need clarification. Cheers!

I'm a little confused again... ^^;
I feel like my food chain is going backwards because:
(for example) I have 7 of each type of runey in one land area. Two days later, I have like 5 water runeys, 6 rock and tree runeys, and like 11 grass runeys. O-O Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?? If the grass population is increasing, they must be eating all the stronger runeys, right? That makes no sense at all if they're the weakest link.

You'll have to excuse me if I'm totally off... by now I haven't played this game in months so, sorry if this isn't it. It might be that grass is the dominant runey in that area. Also, I'm pretty sure the grass runey population rises based on their percentage in relation to the other runeys (ex. if there are very few other runeys and lots of grass, grass runeys will not grow. If there are lots of other runeys and not many grass, then grass runeys will grow. Prosperity areas are of course an exception). So maybe this is what's causing it. Also remember the Food Chain (see guide) is ignored for the first 7 days of each season, and runeys are simply added to those areas (but that doesn't seem to be the case with you since some populations went down).haloharvestmoon wrote:I'm a little confused again... ^^;
