I also love Dark Cloud, it's just not one of my favorite games. =P
I do too, but Dark Cloud 2 hated me. I couldn't get past the town with the little dwarfs.. I tried everything, I even restarted the game and got stuck at the same exact part. It sucks because I loved it up until then. D:Messiah 9 wrote:I personally like Dark Cloud over Dark Cloud 2. Their both good though, and it's rather addicting.
Yeah the past/future aspect and getting everything right does get kinda annoying.
I beat it twice though. Though technically I'd say I'd played it three times. The first time I think I got to the valley that keeps changing the plateaus when I finally gave up. Or was it the sea/beach place? Then my sister started playing like a couple months later and she got farther then me so I started playing too so we had a race to see who would win.

My favorites game series would have to be the Final Fantasy Tactics series
While I never got around to playing the original on the PS1, I did play the remake on the PSP and I fell in love with it <3
However, it was FFT for the GBA that started my love for this series.
As individual games...I would say FFVII, FFVII: Crisis Core, Disgaea 2, and HM: Waku Waku Animal March

Shadow Hearts series and Tales series are tied as my favorite RPG series ever other honorable mention would be :
Series: Suikoden, Kingdom Hearts, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, Ace Attorney, Dragon Quest, Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, Fatal Frame, Final Fantasy, Golden Sun, any game developed by Gust and all of Cing's adventure games.
Single game: The World ends with you.

I'm still waiting for the remake of the 6th game my faaavorite. <3
Favourite game: Legend of Dragoon.
Favourite series: Harvest Moon.
Legend of Dragoon desperately needs a remake or a prequel (not a sequel, there's no need for one of those :O). It came out about 10 years ago (in Japan) and is starting to look a little dated. ._.
Still, the story and characters are second to none, and the FMV's can still hold their own, despite having appallingly hilarious voice overs. xD
My first Harvest Moon was an emulated version of the original SNES game, but the first one I actually owned and played to death was Back To Nature, which remains my favourite to this day. I abused the animal trading exploit so much it's unreal. Almost all my animals were clones of contest winners, for maximum profit. :D
I usually married Karen or Elli. I wasn't fond of Mary, and Popuri was just annoying. Ann was my friends favourite bachelorette, so I was forbidden to marry her.
Great times.

Legend of Dragoon is awesome. I never liked Shana though >_<
That's who it was right? I can't remember any of the names besides Dart and Rose and Meru.
The obligatory love interest with special powers and what not. Annooooying.
NO SAGA FRONTIER LOVERS OUT THERE?
Or Alundra? The first game was better(and is on my fave list too if I didn't add it I sorry~)but the second game was cute and fun too.
Alundra has a good and dark storyline for a PS1 game. Dragoon was just epic. And Saga Frontier was a mix between dark(at times)and epic. Never tried Saga's sequel, I heard it was bad but it looks pretty.

Yeah, she's called Shana. I quite liked Shana, she's a helluva lot less annoying than Miranda (one of the Sacred Sisters of Mille Sesau who replaces her towards the end of the game). It's amusing that you think she was just an obligatory love interest though, since without her there wouldn't have been much of a story or, as spoilers would have it, any plot at all.
I think I have Alundra or Alundra 2 somewhere. Was pretty cool, never finished it though. D:

Oh « Harvest Goddess », I forgot Legend of Dragoon.
But hell, Shana was annoying. Like, assloads. The Mary-Sue girl that needs protection and ends up screwing everyone over anyway, fun.
She reminded me of Aerith, but worse, if possible. ~___~ Call me biased, but I wish that those who are always "inexplicably chosen by fate" in these games weren't as annoying, and useless as hell. I just have issues with Mary-Sue characters and I totally overreact about them.
I emo'd when they killed off Lavitz, Albert was the worst replacement, and additions became impossible after a point, but I still loved the game. >_>

WHY MUST YOU REMIND ME.
« What The Eggplant » is up with all those older PS1 RPGs killing of main chars. Are they trying to be like FF7? Well it's not the first RPG to do that, but it's the one that made doing it popular.
Don't get me started on Alundra. At least/Over half the casts dies and that includes half if not most of the village you stay at. Pretty depressing and dark game. But I love it OH « Harvest Goddess ». The story is epicz
Oh ya. That's funny, I really liked Miranda xD
Haha opposite tastes~

I dunno, but if you can't make the scene epic( I admit, Aerith dying was pretty epic, and not in the, "« Snuggly Bunny » YES SHE'S GONE" way. .___.; I wasn't expecting it. ), you shouldn't even bother. Dx; It ends up becoming as if you're just wondering who will be killed off next. And if it's not a horror game, it shouldn't be that way.
