This is what I would do, especially if your Wii is making strange noises. It may even be a problem that's beyond what you can handle by yourself. You won't really know unless you call a professional and explain the situation to someone who will know how to handle it and thus fix your Wii.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure brawl being on the Wii wasn't causing problems, as (I think) the reason it didn't work is because it is double layered, and required a non-dusy laser. (We over used the wii...) Rune factary was apparently packed to the max, so it could also share similir problems.
Thats what I think anyway.
