I was wondering if there was a code or game hack (action replay or otherwise) that could change the female character in any of the girl harvest moon games into the boy character from the main series. (Bonus points if pronouns change too.)

Does any code or hack like this exist?

(I don't know if this belongs in another forum, I don't care which generation the game is for, so I didn't post in specific game forum)

EDIT: Found the rules. They weren't in a very intuitive place...

It will delete your file.

I have never used one but that's what happens.

That's no fun. They should have that kind of option in the game already.

Maybe I'll have to do what Washu would do and program my own game.

(Why on earth is there a Washu icon? XD)

These codes will change your gender, from male to female, or female to male.

if these codes were put up on the site, I'm pretty sure they have to work or they should have removed them already.

Excellent! Is this a DS action replay code? You invoke this after starting the game? Any worries about using it?

You know, we're really not supposed to discuss AR.

I'm pretty sure AR talks are okay. It's illegal downloads, <b>Very Bad Things™</b>, and emulators that are no-nos. Still, I'm not a big fan of AR use, since it can permantly ruin your game if you're not VERY careful with the codes you use.

Considering it's been done I wouldn't be all like IT'S GONNA DELETE YUR FILE since I know there's some people who have used it successfully. I lunno maybe it happened to the ones saying it will delete your file but when you guys say it like that it reminds me of all the ELITISTS on gamefaqs saying YOU GUYS ARE « Snuggly Bunny » STUPID FOR USING CODES YOU FAIL AT LIFE « Male Cow Poopoo ».

So yeah.

The only games I know of with this code is MM(US version) and IOH.

No text changes though. Just the character model.

Sorry to be gone so long. Why would there be rules against Action Replay? Even if it's a question of honor, I'm not using it to make the game easier or anything.

I've never used one before, but I have a friend to borrow it from. So I'm not sure how it would work. Can someone explain how to use the code?

I'd prefer if it changed pronouns, but I can look the other way, character model is more important. Plus, I don't know how many pronouns fly around in Harvest Moon anyway.

Its the point that AR is considered cheating, regardless of how and why.

Because its all about changing things to YOUR liking and your not playing the game in its original state so to speak.

Since AR changes your gameplay and/or the game.

You're allowed to talk about action replay. It's a legal device and you can purchase it at stores. Whether you agree with using it or not, it's not against the law or the forum rules.

Apparently I haven't been banned yet, so.

When I get the game, how do I use this code? Anyone have a guide? (Not an AR user, but I do have that friend)

Also, I'd be using this at the start of the game, so even if my file was deleted it wouldn't be a huge loss. Wiping the pack is a different story, but that's not what everyone's warning about.

I don't get why you want it so much. I had gameshark and my games sucked « Mr.Gourmet's hat » after using it. I hated it. but if it works just like gameshark then it's really easy to input codes. It would be very obvious. It'll have the add's and deletes. Just look for codes on google, like "Harvestmoon codes" Or you can add the word action Replay in it. Before you start the game, you merely need to turn on part which usually also needs a code or/and a game ID. Man I don't remember a lot of this. I did this when I was like what? 12? And stopped since.
