I guess that solves the "Lanna to Lily" mystery then. Maybe. But I agree, Lily doesn't suit her much. We'll all probably get used to it, but for now I am unimpressed.

I never particularly associated Lily as just a cutesy name, really- lilies are elegant flowers so I could see it for her.

Susan's a plain jane farmer type name, and Suiren was too exotic sounding to fly, really... I dunno, other than the « What The Eggplant » factor on the Lanna thing it seems like a sound name choice. I do get the issue with being used to the Japanese name though- I'm alternately gushing about Animal March and Animal Parade, sometimes both in the same sentence. XD

But in a way that's what I was expecting. :D But I don't like the way they took Lily's name and recycled it, not really the fact that that it doesn't suit her. I'm okay with the name, sort of prefer it, but I want to call "Lanna" Lily, since that's her original name. But we'll all get used to it, at some point. I thought that she would be more likely named after a jewel due to her obsession (not really) with jewelry and riches. Maybe Sapphire?

I could see naming her after a gemstone. It's pretty interesting that they actually seemed to consider her name meaning when choosing her new name though, too.

I always hate that too. I wanted to name my newest Chelsea file Winona, but one of the stupid subvillagers has that name and it grates on me to have the same name.
