If only whenever you pick the same name as somone else they use an alternate name

That's why I've lately come up with fantasy-ish sounding names for my people, but I have a delightfully uncommon name anyway, so whenever I go with my own, I never run into that issue. So far, anyway.

But that alternate name idea would be cool, but I don't think it would work with main villagers. All of those little sub-villagers would work fine with that, but it would get complicated with marriagables.

I agree, Jade, Susan, or kept at Suiren. Everyone's right it doesn't seem to suit her but I like it because of how they got it from "water lily".

Lily is a great name for her. True to the meaning, Asian sounding, fits her personality well. Big thumbs up :D
