And ack, I'm gonna have to save up before I can get that...But the video quality is so good...</3
Are you talking about Dazzle here? Well for anyone interested in the Dazzle device, I'll summarize it:
Dazzle is very simple to use. All you do is hook up the Wii's cables into the device, and then hook the device into your computers USB port. You have to then open up the software that Dazzle comes with (a CD) on your computer, and from there you have a number of options to choose from. You can save it on a CD, or on your computer's hard drive, as well as having the ability to choose your videos quality and how many minutes you need. If you input more minutes then you use, Dazzle will just automatically cut out the unused minutes. So if you're not sure how much time you need, you can put as many minutes as you'd like without a worry.
Anyway, once you've set all of the options to your liking, you simply turn on the Wii. Your computer, more or less, is simply just a monitor for the Wii. You can enlarge the screen so it's bigger as well. From here, whenever you're ready, all you do is hit the record button, and as soon as you're finished, you just hit stop and viola! The video will be saved in the designated folder you chose earlier.
If you'd like to upload the video on youtube, a conversion is unnecessary. You can simply just upload your newly saved video, and youtube will upload without a problem. If your picked the highest quality possible for your video, youtube will also automatically include the HQ option. Therefore, using Dazzle for gameplay videos is excellent because of its simplicity; hassle free.
The downside to Dazzle is that, because the Wii is hooked to your computer, recording videos for the sake of a youtube audience is quite annoying. Each time you want to record a video, you'll have to unhook the Wii from your TV, hook it into Dazzle, record the video, unhook it from Dazzle, and hook it back to your TV.
With games like EAM and ToT, it's a bit easier because you can save your game in multiple file slots, unlike RFF where you only get one diary per game and cannot save to other diaries (hence why I lack so many RFF videos; too lazy to go through this procedure each time.) Thus, in ToT/EAM, if you know you have an event coming up (like a wedding) you can save that piece of data to another file slot, and upload it whenever you have time.
There is a solution to this though. You can get splitter cables, or something of the sort, that I believe allows the Wii to be hooked in the computer and TV at the same time. I am NOT 100% sure about this, nor do I know how it works at all. It's just some things I've read on yahooanswers.
Dazzle DVD Recorder can be purchased at a local Best Buy for $50.
If you want to purchase Dazzle and want to know what the heck splitter cables are, or if the Wii can even be hooked to a computer and TV at the same time, you should probably ask Geek Squad. If such a thing exists, I'm sure Best Buy would carry it. Or any other electronic store for that matter.
If anyone has any questions regarding Dazzle, or if you'd like to see screenshots of how it looks on a computer, feel free to ask.
but complaints about my lack of RFF vids will earn you nothing :D
