I chose gold to begin with and i think I might do so a second time, unless I don't. I have some incredible memories of Pokemon Gold, and it is where half of my current Pokemon team today comes from. Not to mention the ground breaking day/night system for back in the day, except I just mentioned it. The first legendaries that run around too. I remember thinking there was nothing good in an area once that was full of Sparrows, and then along comes Entei level 40 in that area. I was absolutely gobsmacked. I got a fair hit on him and he ran, I then spent 10 minutes or so coming that area for him again before tracking him on the pokedex, heh. The fact that they keep that HP level was very nice as well.
I have a bad habit of playing as the girl these days though. Hope no one is here to judge. >.> I'm also a large grass first pokemon user since they're so useful, that and Chikorita is just my favorite of them all from GS. My Meganium can beat your Meganium Chaos. <.<
Although my Ursaring and my Azumarill and my Porygon 2 will be what I have working for me. As well as a Dragonite, of course. Gold really has the best pokedex of pokemon in my books, I overall love it the most from the pokemon series, fond memories of that Christmas morning and a SNES/Gameboy adapter to play it on the big screen because my gameboy was out of batteries. It will always be my favorite. It has my favorite gym leader too, and it is a shame I forget her name, but you'll remember her via my description. The steel gym leader on the island with an Ampharos. Was one fun bout was that gym battle, and yep, I remember it for the most part. Steelix was an utter « Baaaa *glomp* » with my lack of fire pokemon, ha ha... they always have skimped with fire types more than any others in every game. Unless you had a Magcargo or a Magmar if you didn't start out with a Cyndaquil you are plum out of luck my friends.
I really do miss the days back when we didn't have access to all these guides on the internet, as it made gaming much more fun. Now we are so tied to them we can't separate ourselves from them, or at least I can't. I know I have to at least make a big list of all the possible moves I could give to my pokemon on Notepad now before making a solid choice and before even catching a few of the pokemon I am making the choice for. They aren't all bad though, so don't get me wrong.

In heartgold you can get kyogre
In soulsilver you get groudon
If you have both in one game you activate a rayquaza event
Post national of coarse
I want both games for the hell of it o3o since I can easily get groudon and kyogre in emerald ;0
Alsoooo
Kanto is confirmed in the game again
And we may have battle tower/fronteir again o3o

I like Vileplume over Bellossom becuase Vileplume is dualtyped grass/poison, while Bellossom is not.
I'm still getting Heartgold, unless one of my buddies gets it first. We always get the opposite games so that we can trade. It's nice to have a RL friend to do that with whenever.
I already have a Typhlosion I trained from baby in Pearl (that was a very awesome trade), so I may not pick him after all. If not, I'd get Totodile.
Isn't Chikorita considered the 'hard' starter in this game?

I think so. But iirc, only because the first gym is flying.Lackofclover wrote:Isn't Chikorita considered the 'hard' starter in this game?
But it's been a while since I've played my Crystal so yeah.
I owned both Gold and Silver, but I never got too far on either of them. I liked Crystal better. xD
I'm probably gonna get Heart Gold. I prefer Ho-oh over Lugia.
Which starter I get depends on if they change any of the Pokemon that the Elite Four members have, since I almost always plan my team before I get the game and base it off of what will be most effective against the E4.
Probably Totodile though. He was my starter in Crystal. <3
Oh yeah, can someone tell me what to click to find the trainer sprites on the official website? I found Silver's, but I can't find the others. xD

PEOPLE ACTUALLY COMPLAIN ABOUT THE GRASS?reyreypyon wrote:THE CULER OF TEH GRASS IS UGLY <- my favorite one *snort*
ROTFL. =P
I love the new girl. I liked Kris too but I love the new girl a lot more. She's loli. D: And as for the names, « Mayor Thomas » « Snuggly Bunny » Christ I'm so sick of hearing about names. Even on Fogu I hear people « Baaaa *glomp* » about the names, and seriously, they don't even force the names on you so I don't see why people are complaining about them.
...-noticed just now that three of the characters on AP/ToT are from This Ugly Yet Beautiful World--Akari, Hikari, and Takeru. That's creepy.-
And the Sinnoh Pokemon were definately not the best but I still like some of them. @_@
But anyway, I'll probably get SoulSilver. There seems to be a pattern for me.

Who else is excited about the little pedometer training tool? :3
It's so cute, carrying a pokemon in your pocket to train it :D..altho i can see people abusing it by just shaking it up and down. (Did they really think everyone would go out and exercise with their pokemon? >.>)
Anywho, hopefully they'll include both the pedometer and the figurines with the games when they're localized. :D As preorder gifts!
