Anyone weirded out by the island archipelago?

Maybe I'm just too used to the layout for Island of Happiness, but I really dislike how shops and houses are now split up into different islands that you have to cross by boat.
Also, anyone weirded out that this seems to be taking place in a new setting (i.e. location not Sunny Island) but have the same cast returning?
Plus the island is already developed with all the main characters unlocked. I feel as though I don't have much to work towards to other than unlocking the other islands.

Should I be? I'm not really concerned. It looks to me that the layout is a better one. A lot of people had trouble with the last one.
As for the cast of returning characters and a different island, I don't really see a problem with that either. It's not impossible for people to move. Plus, even if the game is somewhat similar to the last, they're different in their own way.
Things being unlocked makes it easier. Trying to do everyone's requirements to get them all was a bit of a hassle in the last, especially when a few required you to do certain things with a certain tool or portion of the island(i.e. fishing, mining, etc.). Then, there was the fact that people's character got worned out easily in the first, now they don't have to worry about that, since the diner will be open from the start.

Looks, fine to me. I don't see anything wrong with the layout. And who cares if they're the same people it's a different game. Harvest Moon: DS had the same charactes as A Wonderful Life.
Unlocking sub-villiagers was a terrible idea considering the fact they moved away. I understand it was the #100 requirment like the sprites were but Sun stones are better and there's 100 of them so there will be plenty of work to do. Considering you don't use a cheat device

Nah, I've heard that the layout is actually a lot better for this one. :3 In my opinion, the layout for IoH was senselessly huge and could have been shrunken down so you could waste less time.
And I'm pretty happy with there being no subvillagers. They were nice, I guess, but keeping everyone there was a chore that I tired of too quickly.
The cast is almost always reused at least twice. I can't think of a HM cast that's been used only once. xD;;;

Most houses and shops are on the islands that are like right below your farm. All you have to do is leave your farm and most of the house's are there. You don't have to take a boat to get to them. You do have to take a boat to get to the church and the Witch's house(They're both on the same island), Wada and Shiba's house(Mushroom Island). There are other islands but from what I remember, they don't have much on them.Anonymous Fish wrote:Maybe I'm just too used to the layout for Island of Happiness, but I really dislike how shops and houses are now split up into different islands that you have to cross by boat.
