My Brother's froze in the mine too. Luckily, he had always saved on both slots, so he had an up-to-date "back-up" of his save.
If you did the same as him, you could salvage your game save. :D

It will freeze your game, but you can just turn it off and everything would be fine.

Definatly, and it might make you get bored faster, you be thinking "well, i dont have to go down over 100 floors anymore, so now what?"
Bah, i'll probably go into the spring mine instead, even though its more floors, but has anyone noticed that its much easier to find the stairs in the spring mine than the lake mine? it takes like a few hits, compared to like 10 for the lake mine.
