Normally it's not that hard.
AnWL was the first HM I played and I knew absolutely nothing about it. My very first file I married Rock, simply based off looks and he made me laugh. A lot. My second file, I went for Marlin. Best decision, EVER.
The second one I had was MM. I hadn't discovered sites like Ushi yet, so I just played around and talked to the bachelors to see what they were like. Kurt won, hands down.
A while later I discovered Ushi and heard about DS Cute. I was super stoked to get to play in the Valley again. I was already resolved in marrying Marlin, and then I heard about Skye and wanted to marry him too. He was who I was after in my first file. . . that I erased D: So I tried again. . . and erased that one too. Eventually I gave up and went for Marlin without trying to have two files at once. I've yet to marry Skye. . .
Then I heard about ToT and wanted to play that game, but by the time I found out about it, EAM was already out. So I decided to wait for the English version. I already know who I'm marrying, based off of extensive research and hanging out on Ushi for hours on end: JULI, LUKE, and CHASE.

usually it's a dead ringer for me, since i read up on the game before i actually buy it and one guy just sticks out to me (hee hee) ... like, in MFOMT kai was just like WHAM, l-a-f-s (:
in AWL i went for that hawt babe muffy, since i (being young at the timmee) thought celia was boring and nami looked butch, lmfao.
IOH, i of course (like every other airheaded teenage girl) slobbered all over vaughn for a little while, but then decided he was too hard (HEE HEE HEE) and married pierre instead .... not my best idea. chose denny on second filleee!
STH, chose gwen's ending every time
SNES, immidietly chose eve ...
forgot where i was going with this, lmfao
i guess it's usually easy for me to choose a spouse, since i tend to read up on the chars a lot before the game.

most of the time it is easy for me.
In MT I knew I wanted the good Doctor and Cliffy.
In DS I went for the mermaid Leia but had a tough time picking between Muffy and Celia.
In DS cute no question. I went for Skye and one of my old MT favorites.
IoH Vaughn. Then Shea. Then Natalie. And Vaughn again.
In the RF series it was easy too. Felicity and Rosetta. RF2 Rosalind <3 and Dorothy.
I did however have the hardest time picking a guy in ToT. I really liked them all so I ended up playing the thing like 4 times just so I could see what being married to all 4 of my favs was like. ^^

Usually, it's pretty hard for me! XD
AWL was actually straightforward; I knew I'd marry Celia from the start. Later, I slightly regretted not spending more time deciding, but I think she was a pretty good choice.
FoMT was more difficult. I married Karen first, then Ann, then Popuri. There was no clear choice in that game; I kept changing my mind first time round, before deciding I'd just marry them all in turn.
HM:DS wasn't too difficult, actually. Nami seemed like the obvious choice from the start, though I did briefly consider Flora...
DS Cute was trouble, because I'd never played MFoMT and it became my chance to marry one of the MT boys. At first, I was dead set on Rick, before switching to Gray and somehow settling on Marlin!
File 2, though, is definitely reserved for Gray.
MM... no idea. I had plans, but Rising Star kind of ruined them by removing the option to play as a girl. I think I might go for Ellen or Ann.

I usually pick husbands easily in HM . There's always one that sticks out to me.

I always have a hard time picking a husband. Once I get it narrowed down to two or three possibilities, it's really difficult for me.

It's usually pretty easy for me, cuz I look up every possible detail on the canidates before the game even comes out. xD

I'm playing AWL that I borrowed from a friend. I'm having trouble choosing between Muffy and Nami . . . good thing there's two files! :D
Does any one know how to trigger their heart events? (Sorry for being off topic)

No, in every single HM game I play the boys that interest me are always the hard ones

It depended on the game for me. I tend to fall for the guys that are quiet or moody or both. Like Trent, Grey or Vaughn... <3
