I have 2 saved files on my game. My friends where playing it and they somehow deleted a file. I dont understand how that is possible. How can you delete a file. I thought you can only overwrite with a new one. Is there anything I can do to recover the file. I have 2 questions and i need to answers. Thanks=)

As far as I know, you can't recover files.
I didn't know you could just delete files either, so I could be wrong.
But I think your file is gone.

When you overwrite with a file, lets say file 1, and you use it to overwrite file 2, then its deleted. Gone for good.

Actually the same thing happened to me... my file somehow just got deleated and there were no save games whatsoever, and it was kind of disappointing considering that I was on my fourth year and had to start over again. I never managed to figure out how someone may have deleated it, but yeah, I was never able to recover it.

I think this is usually referred to as "your game batery dying".
It usually happens when you haven't played the game for a while...
This happened to my Pokemon Gold and Silver GBC Cartridges

It also meant, in my case, that I could no longer save onto the cartridge, but this isn't always the case.
As long as you play regularly and are careful, you should be fine.

But the OP had his friends playing, so the game wasn't not played for a while.

The same thing happened to me too. I had played it the day before, and then it was gone. I dunno...

well...
I don't think it ONLY occurs if you haven't played for a while...
I think it might just be the unreliability of the GBA cartridges...

Well thats not good D: If it happens for no reason, then i'm scared, I've put in a lot of effort in my only file.

the exact same thing happened to me, i was on year 4 too, had the teleport stone, went to the bottom ot
both mines, and all tools to mythic.

it was a huge loss. and no one deleted it either, it just kinda deleted itself. like a glitch... D:

« What The Eggplant », never knew there was such a thing as this, cuz this is rediculous! Files disappearing for no reason.

Well, if we play, we will have to take the chance, and i don't think the catridge can die very easily, can it?
I put tons of effort into it too, and i would be very frustrated if it just died.

Mine disappeared of it's own accord once, as well.
I freaked out. BUT, I took out the game, blew gently into it, and then re-inserted it into the gameboy, and the file was back.
I think it was just extreme luck, though.
Every other time that happened, I had lost it for good.
So, I didn't mean to get anybody's hopes up there, or anything..
