well,you can unlock another spirits in couple of hours.

to get the first one at the circus grounds, you get flora's blue heart event, or if you are playing the girl version, you have to get her up to 255 FP, then the event will play. once you get it, i think you just have to go in and out 100 times to get the next one at the Goddess pond. the only reason you would want to stay in an hour at a time would be if you are trying to get the sprites =D
