Man friends

Firstly, can you make friends with the men of the village? How do you know when you are mates?
Secondly, apart from Carter letting you in his back door, is there any benefit in being BFFs with the other guys? What if I become besties with Jeff?
I'm asking these questions because I can't find an answer on Fogu or GameFAQs. Also, I've been giving Gotz a log every morning for a season now so I hope I haven't wasted my time.

I believe that some may give you recepies. Also, you will realize your friends when they say different things in their neutral area. For example, the front part of his shop is Jeff's neutral area.

Plus Anna gives you cooking classes for a while on saturdays if you're friends with them all :p

I like becoming friends with Carter, so i could get to the back yard for the truffles and mushrooms :D

Phew! When I read this, I thought it was going to be one of those "if you could be gay" things... I'm really relieved; those are pretty scary...
I'm pretty good bud with them all; Carter is probably the most lucrative one to befriend though.

Gotz is good too, this avoids the event where he stops working for you. As for the others, they just send you birthday and new years cards.

Ugh! I hate it when he stopps working! Its very important to keep his FP up, especially. No Gotz, no home.

I dunno, I'm done all the upgrades, so I'm not gonna be too paranoid about it.

I still need a few upgrades, but it would bother me anyway beasue i wouldn't like it if a villager didn't like me.

Oddly enough, in the girl versions I love making BFFs but in the boy version I'm all, "screw it."

Gotz is probably the person you most want to make friends with because he makes all your houses. =P
