Does anyone know if the pink diamonds in the lake mine are only available in the winter? My mother has been playing my FoMT, and she finally got the teleport stone, but she was just in here complaining that she never finds pink diamonds during the "off-season" and asked if "any of those Harvest Moon people you talk to" had ever said anything about it. I've never played the Mineral Town games myself, so I have no idea.

The season doesn't matter, but they only appear on certain floors...:

Where is your FAQ posted? I still haven't figured out why she won't use Ushi, but I've found it saves me a lot of time if I give her things she can print out or write out by hand. Plain text (like that "Game Flax thing" I bookmarked for her) is just about her speed.

Thanks. That's what I expected, but my Internet was acting up last night so I couldn't check.

She now says she hasn't found any diamonds, either. So let's simplify things. Are there any regular mine items that are seasonal? She knows about the power berries, the french fry recipe, the goddess and kappa jewels, and the mythic stones, and I'm pretty sure she's gotten and upgraded all the cursed tools. She got the teleport stone at the beginning of spring, so this is the first year she's been able to go to the lake mine when it wasn't winter, and she says she hasn't found a single diamond or pink diamond since then. And yes, she did remember which floors to look on. (She's still got the little scraps of paper where I wrote down things like where to find the mine items, the fishing information, how to trigger the heart events, etc.)

Thanks, but I've already been there, and for every single item in the lake mine, it says "Winter" for the season (except the diamond that's available during one of the summer festivals) because unless you have the teleport stone, the lake mine is inaccessible except during the winter when the lake is frozen. I did check Samurai Goroh's FAQ (which was very good, BTW, thanks for that), but it didn't list the seasons for the jewels. I would assume that they're available all year round, if you can get to them, but if there's one thing I've learned in the past--what, six or eight years?--of playing Harvest Moon, it's to never assume, because they can glitch *anything* in these games.

It would be of great help if someone could check this for me, but I'm pretty sure that Amethyst, (the purple gem), is only there in Winter... As for the others, I'm not too sure...

Yes, you said that before in another topic, that when you visited the mine in another season, you couldn't find amethyst.
But i've looked everywhere and couldn't find anything like that, and i dont have the teleport stone, so i can''t check.

I am 99.9% sure about Amethyst NOT being there outside of Winter... (You can never be 100% lol)

So..Yeah. Other than that, I think there's no limitations. Although, personally, I use mining as a way to pass winter by and use it effectively... I mean, afterall, there's nothing any better to do other than fish in Winter, right?

But if there was no amythest in winter, surely someone would have noticed it and posted it or something by now, right?

I'm pretty sure the reason it says winter is because you can't get there until winter unless you have your teleport stone. Their just saying that to avoid confusion. Thats also why that mine is called the winter mine.
