What makes it worth it.
So we all know this little trend with HM, they release the game and then they have a new version of it come out in about a year or so.
In your opinion.. what makes buying this one worth it, or is sticking with the first one you bought good enough for you?
I'm not sure if I should, so I'm just looking for opinions.. I didn't really like the system of the first one I prefer more of the DS CUTE/MFOMT system.
Thanks for any helpful replies.

Its all your decision. I honestly don't think you should buy this if you have IoH. I agree with the CUTE,HMDS and FoMT/MFoMT.Toxil wrote:So we all know this little trend with HM, they release the game and then they have a new version of it come out in about a year or so.

If Natsume hadn't put out those adorable preorder plushies to tempt me, then I wouldn't have batted an eye at this release. No interest for me, since it's the same-old same-old.
So if you don't care about the preorder goodies, I suggest you keep your IoH and be content with that. In a year or so, there'll prolly be another "completely new" HM game, because they're already working on one in Japan (again).
When are they going to milk the formula dry?

well, it's pretty different than IoH. Like the fact that you can keep pets. The main uh...storyline is different too. There are new characters, which is not too surprising. there are sunstones and you can move with the D-pad. there are more harvest sprites and only 8 sub-villagers, your spouse makes lunch for you so you won't faint of hunger. There are alot of differences. more than the regular HMDS/HMDSC
FOMT/MFOMT.
if you already like IoH and enjoy plaing it, you might want to just buy Winds Bazaar once it comes out.

Oh yeah... I am so getting WB though that just sounds awesome!
The three big reasons I'm getting SI even though I already have IoH is,
- Shea, and seeing him in wedding attire. <3 (Shea fan)
- Easier controls, the controls for IoH got annoying rather; quickly.
- I'm just an all around Harvest Moon fan and love playing the games.
Smaller reasons for me are.
- New characters to interact with. Such as Will.
- New things to do that IoH didn't have.
- Seeing the differing heart events and how they differ.
- Seeing over all how the two games differ.
- Befriending wild animals and they help you.
- Pig and Cat as pets.
And just things like that and more that I do plan on getting the game for. Even if it is just a slightly remade version of IoH. Never the less, it will keep me from getting bored for a while and give me a new game to play with and add to my collection.

Eh, I find it worth it since they include entirely new towns (sometimes), improvements, and new events. Basically it is the same old with a new spin on it that will attract some more than others depending on how much you liked the game. Personally I think they would make more of a profit if they waited a while and put out more games with original casts rather than create another game with the same cast. That way a good few years later you would enjoy seeing those faces again rather than for the second time in a row.
Simply put they should space them out rather than having them back to back. Like "Sugartown" for example. I am highly stoked to be able to see some Save the Homeland characters again after a while. It was a very marketable wait to make this game a while after Magical Melody.

Well, in my opinion, MFOMT was wad so players could be a female. Same thing with DS CUTE, cause on the originals, you could only be a boy.Toxil wrote:So we all know this little trend with HM, they release the game and then they have a new version of it come out in about a year or so.

On IoH and SI, you can freely pick between a girl or a guy, which calls for another storyline in my opinion
He is better than Shea to me, because he looks and acts exactly like Julio who is a character from one of my favorite animes of all time. Except for his heterochromia, which is a true shame that Will doesn't have himself.Whirlybat wrote:Mhmm, I've heard her say it a couple times actually.
Yes, Will is pretty cute, but I don't know if he can better than Shea <333
